Allegri believes Juve must enjoy ‘difficult’ Milan clash and responds to Scudetto shouts

By Isak Möller -

Max Allegri spoke to the media earlier this evening during the usual pre-match press conference, as his Juventus will take on AC Milan tomorrow. It’s a game that the manager believes his players must enjoy.

Milan are in first place with 21 points, but Juventus are in third just four points behind the Rossoneri. Tomorrow’s clash, as such, will be an important one for both sides and perhaps especially the home side.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, as cited by MilanPress, Allegri shared his thoughts on the game and stated that his players must enjoy it. He also responded to the suggestion that Juve are favourites to win the Scudetto.

On the game…

“A beautiful, stimulating match. At the moment, it’s first against third, we know the difficulties, playing at San Siro is nice but at the same time difficult.”

On the Scudetto…

“I don’t know why Pioli and Marotta think we are favourites. One is the coach of Milan, the other is the general manager of Inter. We must score as many points as possible to reach the top 4 at the end of May. Let’s enjoy tomorrow’s match against Milan and then see what we were able to achieve.”

On Vlahovic, Chiesa and Weah…

“Vlahovic has been training with the team all week and is fine. Chiesa did half a training session yesterday, today we will evaluate whether to call him up or not. Regardless of Theo’s disqualification, Weah is growing, now he has found his balance.”

It remains to be seen what the outcome of the game will be. If not for the absences of Mike Maignan, Marco Sportiello and Theo Hernandez, Milan probably would have been the favourites to clinch all three points at San Siro. Now, however, it’s tough to call.
