AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has chosen his front two for Sunday’s game against Cremonese, a report claims.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that for tomorrow’s match against Cremonese, Allegri is once again banking on his star duo of Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao to lead the line, who were held without a goal in their last start against Parma.

Niclas Füllkrug and Christopher Nkunku will therefore be on the bench, at least initially, as Allegri doesn’t seem inclined to deviate from his usual 3-5-2 formation.
Final preparations
Today, Milan will train at lunchtime, also to adapt to the time (12:30 CET) of the match at the Stadio Zini following day. Then, at 15:30 CET, the coach will hold his pre-match press conference at Milanello, before departing for Cremona.
While Allegri appears to have a clear idea in attack, there are some more doubts in midfield. Luke Modric and Adrien Rabiot are certain of a spot, despite the Frenchman being one yellow card from missing the next game (as well as Saelemaekers, Athekame and Fofana). Youssouf Fofana has the advantage over Ardon Jashari and Samuele Ricci at the moment.
As for the defence, Matteo Gabbia trained separately yesterday as well, and only today will it be clear whether he’ll be included in the squad and at least on the bench, or whether he’ll postpone his return until the derby.
The trio in front of Maignan will therefore consist of Fikayo Tomori and Strahinja Pavlovic, flanking Koni De Winter. Alexis Saelemaekers and Davide Bartesaghi will run on the flanks as usual.
Fofana has the advantage over Ricci and Jashari at the moment? No….He’s had the advantage over them all season! You and others may not like it, but Allegri has made it crystal clear that Fofana-Modric-Rabiot is his preferred starting 3. Pretty much all season!
As it should be. That’s the most compatible midfield trio Allegri can field anyway.
If at first you don’t succeed, try it again, and again, and again. So, playing against a team that barely scores you’re going to again set-up defensively. I think ACM will win by a nose, but another game of deary and underperforming football. It’s going to be 75 here, sunny, and perfect beach weather. Eating tapas at the bar on the beach wins.
Stupidity is defined by trying the thing that is not working, over and over, and expect different results (3-5-2 with Rafa and Puli). It is quite clear to everyone that we should play against the small teams in a 4-3-3 with Puli and Rafa as wingers, and Fullkrug as number 9. Apparently only Allegri can’t see it. That is, we’ll struggle again to break the low block.
I think Cremonese has one goal in the last seven games. Boy, they are an offensive threat. At this point I can’t blame Leão or Pulisic as they both are misused. Managerial malfeasance. Proprio male.
Allegri is trying to make use of the cards he has. No good 9 and no fullbacks. Estupinan is the only one. Bartesaghi is a good ball handler, but unreliable defender and no RB? Milan’s strongest defenders are all CBs? I don’t think Milan has the right personnel to play a good 4 at the back
Since Milan are in 2nd place Allegri may think his 352 is actually working?
