Allegri explains locker room reaction after Juventus-Milan: “You have to be very angry”

Massimiliano Allegri has explained why he was ‘very angry’ in the locker room after AC Milan’s draw against Juventus, though insisting that it was a normal reaction.

After the draw against Juventus, Milan were rather upset as they should have brought home the three points. Two great chances were missed, including a penalty, and Allegri reportedly made his disappointment clear in the locker room afterwards – especially with Rafael Leao.

During today’s press conference, on the eve of Milan-Fiorentina, Allegri was asked about his reaction in the locker room. The manager made it clear that nothing strange happened; when you’re at a club like Milan, it’s only natural to have a strong reaction to what ultimately was a failure.

What happened in the locker room in Turin?

“Nothing strange happened, it was something that happens so often. You play a match in Turin and have the chance to take home three points, so after the final whistle you can’t be happy. If you want to raise the bar after those games, you have to be very angry.

“It applies to the whole environment to achieve certain goals. It wasn’t a match in which we suffered and should have been happy with the draw. It was a match that we could have won and had to win. When games can be won, they must be won. When they can’t be won, they must not be lost.”

Allegri has certainly raised the demands and so far, it has worked really well. After the mediocre 2024-25 season, during which the players often lacked the necessary discipline, someone like Allegri is exactly what Milan needed to get things back on track.

    1. Was pulisic thinking about this a lot when he flew the balls up last match with the old lady this he’s injured bc of overthinking the draw.

      1. He’s injured because Pochettino doesn’t give a damn about the health of his players and makes them play friendlies while not being fit

  1. Interesting difference between a winner coach and a bunch of people who commented in here after the game that it was a great result not to lose to Juventus.

“so after the final whistle you can’t be happy. If you want to raise the bar after those games, you have to be very angry.”
