AC Milan need to be smart this summer, especially after last season. So, recruitment has to be perfect, for now and the future.
There are several moves planned this summer, and there are a lot of irregularities with them, as we recently wrote about. However, it seems that this could be entirely the plan. Rather than focus on one group, Milan could recruit for now and the future at the same time.
Allegri’s plan
Rebuilding is the top priority for the Diavolo next season, it has to be after a substantially sub-par finish. So, a change in strategy is required, but it may not be as extreme as it could be. This summer, the Rossoneri will not go from recruiting younger players to only buying players at the end of their careers.
As Quotidiano Sportivo write, there will be a mix of it all. Luka Modric and Granit Xhaka headline those towards the end of their careers, with Massimiliano Allegri wanting a more experienced midfield. However, Ayyoub Bouaddi is also on the list, adding a little string of youth to the picture.
It goes beyond that, Allegri thinks of having Francesco Camarda, Mattia Liberali and Davide Bartesaghi involved too, giving the Italian core for now and the future. Then, Kevin Pasalic, born in 2007, could also be added to the defence.
Yes, there is a need to step away from the purely youth-oriented recruitment of recent years. However, it will not be a complete shift, not yet.
No good player in the middle of his career is going to join AC Milan because the management is made up of incompetent buffoons.
Rubbish. Sign quality young players who are already playing at the highest level and players in their prime between ages 22-26. Signing players in their 30s and 40s who are on high wages makes absolutely no sense.

You know the problem of Milan in the last couple of year that we dont have class players to guide young bull. Look at other big team (Liver, Man City, Bayern,…) they has both experience (even world class) + young talent. Since Kjaer, Zlatan, Girould left…we dont have any real leaders. Last year, we are a group of young and talent players but like a mess, unprofessional attitude, weak mental when competitors score first, couldnt control the tempo of play even facing smaller team, didnt know to deal with difficulties period,…We really need some old (and class) man and yes, a real playmaker. What both Modric and Xhaka can deliver us
