Massimiliano Allegri has been confirmed as the new head coach of AC Milan, and it appears he had a feeling it could happen for a year.

Earlier on Friday, Milan officially confirmed that Allegri has become the head coach, returning 11 years after his previous stint and signing a two-year deal (plus option). He will take over from Sergio Conceicao as the head coach, who joined on December 30 but lasted just a few months.
How Allegri prepared to come back
According to La Repubblica (via MilanNews), there is a clue that suggests Allegri himself imagined being back at Milan. The paper claim that he ‘did not miss a single game’ that the Rossoneri played during the 2024-25 season.
It is almost ‘as if he was waiting for a call’ from his former club. The call did eventually come, and it should serve as an advantage that he saw every match of a difficult campaign and will already have some assessments regarding the current player plus gaps in the squad.
The Italian is therefore back at Milan 11 years after his first tenure ended. In his first experience with the Rossoneri, he coached 178 games (91 victories, 49 draws, 38 defeats, 303 goals scored and 178 conceded), winning a Scudetto (2010-11) and a Supercoppa Italiana (2011).
