AC Milan find themselves 10 points off top spot and with their unbeaten run over, but Massimiliano Allegri must rally the troops.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) write this morning, it’s been a difficult few days for Milan, who find themselves well behind rivals Inter after poor results against Como and Parma at San Siro, taking one point out of six.

There is some bitterness over refereeing errors too. Of course, these are not a sole excuse and the pitch always speaks for itself, but with a few different and more logical decisions, perhaps some games would have gone differently.

Allegri’s job

Now is not the time for Milan to feel sorry for themselves, and Allegri must get everyone back on track. The paper calls Allegri a ‘psychologist’, considering what he should bring to his players at such a delicate moment. This isn’t the first time Max has faced a similar situation.

The coach coach has already faced a similar experience: after a superb first half of the 2023-24 season, his Juventus side were defeated by Inter after a home draw against Empoli, then came a home defeat to Udinese and a draw away to Verona.

From that point on, they began a steep slide in the table. The Bianconeri believed in the Scudetto, but then they collapsed. At Milanello they want to avoid all this because there is still one objective to achieve: qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Milan will travel to Cremonese on Sunday, the only team that had beaten Rossoneri before Parma did so 24 games later. Then comes the games against Inter (on the weekend of March 8th) and in Rome against Lazio.

These are three games that could represent the final watershed moment for what has always been the declared objective. The last few days have been challenging, but Allegri knows how to lift the Rossoneri.

  1. “The Bianconeri believed in the Scudetto, but then they collapsed. ”

That’s what the “scared little girl”-attitude does. Allegri is so scared of losing he puts all the eggs in the “let’s draw” basket and doesn’t even want to try to win matches.
