Allegri refuses to completely rule out Italy future again: “They will decide”

This afternoon, AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri was given another chance to rule himself out of the position of leading the Italian national team, but he didn’t take it.

In recent weeks, Allegri has been linked heavily to a move away from the Milan job, with the FIGC needing a new leader for the Azzurri after Gennaro Gattuso stepped down from his position. It is no surprise that the Italian has been so heavily rumoured, but he hasn’t done himself any favours.

Instead of removing himself from the equation, he has remained very coy. He has never really ruled himself out of the discussion. Even last week, he seemed to deny the suggestions and then opened the door again a few questions later.

Allegri remains frustratingly open

MilanNews have relayed comments from his press conference earlier, where he was asked again about his future and this time. Confidence about his future would be even lower from his answer.

“Before the coach, they will have to decide who the president is. Then, after that, they will decide”.

It may just be Allegri playing the media game, but it certainly is not the reassurance that fans would hope for.

  1. IF Allegri leaves for the Italian NT then Milan should really push for Fabergas or Sarri. My preference is for Fabergas because he has shown that he can have balance in his team both offensive and defensively.

If not Fabergas then definitely Sarri as Milan is already built for a 433.
