Tuttosport: ‘Champions League changes everything’ – Allegri’s request with qualification

It appears that should AC Milan qualify for the Champions League, Massimiliano Allegri would stay in charge of the club.

There has been talk for months about Allegri and his future at the club. Whether it be outside interest or his own lack of interest in remaining at the helm, questions have been allowed to go on far too long.

Indeed, he has been on a merry-go-round of rumours and it seems that they could be coming to an end, even with the recent links to Napoli.

Work begins with Champions League confirmation

However, it would appear that there is no need to worry with Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reporting that qualification into next season’s Champions League ‘changes everything’. So much so that the Italian would almost be guaranteed to stay.

The recent support from Gerry Cardinale means a lot to him and there have already been talks about this summer between the pair.

Allegri, ultimately, is not asking for more power. Instead, he just wants to be able to have a greater say in transfers, which is fair considering the discourse over who has made certain signings this season (and even in years gone).

With internal roles redefined and the Champions League reached, the 58-year-old would be incentivised to stay and work has already begun on his targets for the summer.
