This weekend, Massimiliano Allegri could do a bit of scouting himself when AC Milan face Sassuolo. Indeed, one of his targets will be in action.
Reports about midfielders are nothing new at this stage. As we head into the summer mercato, Milan have been linked with several different types of players, but it feels like the midfield is the strongest area of interest.
Considering Allegri has not gotten what he had hoped from those available, it is understandable why there is such emphasis on getting the summer right.
Allegri adores Kone
In recent weeks, the name of Ismael Kone has been growing in appreciation and now, it appears he could be one of the top choices. So, Allegri will be keen to watch him this weekend for a few reasons, as MilanNews reports.
A dynamic midfielder, he is Fabio Grosso’s own Adrien Rabiot. Someone comfortable in all areas of the game, the Canadian has been fantastic for Sassuolo and his goal tally is only matched by Rabiot from midfield.
Considering Allegri’s request for goals in midfield, he will take particular interest in the Neroverdi talent.
With 31 appearances this season, he has established himself as one of the finer midfield talents in the division and his traits align perfectly with those that the Livorno-born coach would like. A price tag of €30 million has been placed on him and with Allegri ‘settling’ on him, that fee may be exchanged.

Gila/Stones,
Ake (Odogu),
Dodo/Palestra,
*Fagioli (Ricci),
Goretzka (Loftus-Cheek),
*Kone (Fofana),
SMS (or a somewhat similar “profile”),
Grimaldo/Hernandez (Estupinan),
*Chiesa (Nkunku),
Lewandowski/Vlahovic/Ramos (Leao), Lukaku/Retegui (?)/Sorloth (Gimenez);
Stones perma-injured, Palestra too expensive and also too much competition, Gimenez, Ricci and Fofana are fine. Chiesa is washed at this point
That’s why I put John solely as an alternative to MG but it seems to me that Milan won’t follow that track anyway due to several reasons. What do you mean by “too much competition”? There is no such thing as TMC in Milan. Santi isn’t that bad as many illustrate him, of course, but he isn’t fine either and we should therefore look elsewhere for much better solutions because it would be a disaster not to do that. Ricci is questionable too but I would still keep him for one more season (he could satisfy as a rotation player as long as he grows which I doubt he will at the expected pace), Fofana isn’t someone I would let go but this article is about Kone which (I hope) explains that suggestion. You might be right about Chiesa, unfortunately, but I don’t understand this hype surrounding Zaniolo either.
If he joins Jashari and Ricci will be the extra players to fill up the 22 for the training matches. This guy looks like he could be world class in a few years, they don’t.

Javi Guerra is a better option in my opinion. He would be a good backup for Rabiot. They have a similar playing style.
