Santiago Gimenez is expected to start for AC Milan tomorrow night and the Mexican will be strengthened by Massimiliano Allegri’s choice.
There have been plenty of suggestions about Gimenez’s future in the past 12 months. Heading into the summer, it seemed he could be sacrificed. It was a back and forth story through the mercato, too. Indeed, at the final hurdle, it seemed he was departing.
Nevertheless, he was kept in Milano, but the issues did not stop. Shortly after, he was sidelined with a seemingly innocuous injury and he is only just returning. Indeed, almost the full season has been missed.
Allegri’s signal to the top
Despite his troubles, Massimiliano Allegri will look to him at the first instance that he is available. He has made a few substitute appearances, but he was not yet ready to start. Now that he is, he will be thrown in straight away.
Calciomercato.com writes that the duo have faith in each other and Allegri’s action is a message to the management. He believes in the Mexican, deeply, and so Gimenez will be a Rossonero next season permitting Allegri remains the coach, which is dubious in its own right.
The Italian believes he can be decisive in the final games of the season and beyond. Now, it is Gimenez’s turn to repay the faith and he is keen to do so.
That means that Füllkrug is so bad that he has no choice.
