MN: Allegri continues to support mercato movements in person – the details

Massimiliano Allegri is all hands on deck with AC Milan this summer, and is constantly involved with the mercato team.

There is a need for the signings to work for everyone. After all, there have been suggestions that certain ideas last season were from the top rather than the head coach – something which we saw play out with Alex Jimenez.

So, Allegri’s involvement in the recruitment process is a must, even if it is just identifying profiles for his team.

Allegri’s team

As Milan News reports, this is the case, with Allegri ‘totally immersed’ in the process, with him having the say on different choices. Today, for example, he has been at Casa Milan – and was seen leaving in the past hour (as can be seen below) – to aid with mercato strategies.

It is reported that he has had a meeting today with the management to take stock of different situations. So far, Allegri is showing ‘great enthusiasm’ and is one of the reference points for the mercato.

Above all, he wants to strengthen his squad, which already looks much weaker, thanks to the departure of Tijjani Reijnders, which he and Igli Tare, potentially, had no say in. More so than ever then, it is vital they have their say.

  1. So we hired a manager after all. I wonder how is Ibra taking this as he refused to hire Conte since he too is more of a manager than a coach 🙂

    1. They hired a manager because the management just got serious.

In modern football the era of coaches have long been overtaken by managers. All top clubs all have managers, only in Milan will you sign a CDK who has no position in the coach’s formation.
If the manager had a say in that transfer, we wouldn’t have signed CDK.

The barest minimum when scouting a player is to at least ask the coach who will utilise the player, how does this player fit into your system?

      1. Being able to backtrack on one’s position when wrong shows maturity.
The management have gone back to take a manager because they have discovered that it is the way to go.
        This shows growth and learning.

Life is about improvement, not about a contest to be right or wrong, Zlatan and Co would have been foolish to stick to a coach approach.
Only a fool does thesame thing repeatedly and expect a different result, for them to have started doing things differently is a very welcome sign they want a different result.

        1. Back track and collectively & publicly apologise to the fans for the messed up season is the most professional and humble thing to do. I’m waiting for that from these ‘professionals’.

          1. What have you been reading? They flat out admitted they screwed up. If you expect a grovelling apology, you’re naive. The hiring of a high profile coach and sporting director is obviously a clear indication they know they screwed up.

    1. “…I hope this all works out.”

This is what is more important and expected of us right now.
It is normal for almost everyone to have dout at one point or the other.

        1. If it has to do with AC Milan, I’m unapologetically available.
Everyone knows I bleed RED AND BLACK till the mudaforking casket!
