A report has claimed that head coach Massimiliano Allegri was left ‘surprised’ by the late summer signing of Christopher Nkunku.
Things have not gone well for Nkunku since he arrived right at the end of the most recent summer mercato. He is yet to score a goal in the league despite a run of starts, netting only in the Coppa Italia against Lecce three months ago.

Regarding the signing of Nkunku, Il Giornale (via MilanNews) report that Allegri was surprised by the €40m move, given that for weeks he had asked for a more typical striker and instead found himself with an attacking midfielder.
Sporting director Igli Tare was also ‘unimpressed’ with the deal, which was ‘completed thanks to CEO Giorgio Furlani’s excellent relationship with Chelsea’. It suggests that Furlani went against the wishes of the coach and director, just to keep things sweet with the Blues.
Allegri’s foreshadowing
We perhaps saw a bit of a glimpse of Allegri’s bafflement after the 2-0 win over Lecce in Serie A back in August. In his post-match interview he was asked how he would use Nkunku.
“I don’t know how I’ll be able to use him. He’s a very high-quality player, and I think we already have excellent players up front, and the important thing is to find the right balance with them.”

Easy to accuse. Furlani is his boss. Difficult to say “don’t make this signing or I quit” two months into the most important job Tare has had to date. Then in the next job interview they’ll ask him why he’s difficult with his superiors. The answer here is that Cardinale needs to realize that Furlani is not a football man and needs to not be involved in transfers. He can set the budget for a transfer, but he should not choose the player.

I think you’re forgetting that Tare is still just a pawn in Furlani’s system. So if Furlani is doing some some shady sh*t Tare can’t oppose it and simply becomes the front man for whatever Furlani has cooked up.
This is still the same organization from last season. Same idiots running the club. Allegri may have shored up the players and the performances, but behind the scenes it’s the same incompetent clowns running the show.

Furlani probably negociated with Tare a contract that saw the latter conceding a lot of power to him and having to answer to him for basically anything.

Of course, the chief puppeteer Furlani gets to sign whoever he wants without recourse to Tare or Allegri. Does he not pay their salaries and is he not in absolute control of the finances?
Someone should investigate the guy, he probably collected some kick back for signing a player no one asked for, because it was a “sweet” deal! The deal was sweet for who? Milan or Furlani?

Nkunku should see this as a 9-5 job, turn up for training, do the little he can on the pitch, collect his wages and sip his wine in peace. I can’t blame him, the system being played does not suit him and vice versa.

Pretty sure every one was surprised by Nkunku’s signing – a player that doesn’t fit into our team from any conceivable angle. Allegri keeps having to defend him after every showing, but soon he too will run out of excuses for Nkunku.

Like ACM1899 said, it’s the same management running the show. They’ll take Tare and Allegri’s opinions under advisement but in the end, they’ll do what they want. If that’s true, that Furlani took Nkunku just to please Chelsea, then he should be fired. Of course, that won’t happen b/c Furlani has done many things worthy of being fired for. If we lose the scudetto by a handful of goals (essentially a 1-3 points) then I’ll blame Furlani for not getting a real striker.
