‘We are almost there’ – Gimenez fuels idea of early return with positive message

Santiago Gimenez has sent a positive message to the AC Milan fans, stating that it’s not long before he will be back on the pitch.

The Mexican striker has been on the sidelines since the end of October, when it was decided that he would stop to try to recover from an ankle injury. In the end, conservative therapy wasn’t enough and he underwent surgery instead in December.

While reports initially suggested that he could be out until the final games of the season, it seems it could be a little bit better than that. Indeed, the latest indications are that he could be back in mid-March, rather than sometime in April.

Gimenez with a positive message

On his Instagram page, Gimenez has now fueled the idea that he could be back earlier than expected. Posting some photos of him on the pitch, and Milan fans celebrating, he said: “I miss you… but we are almost there”

An early return would obviously be very beneficial for the Rossoneri, as Massimiliano Allegri would have even more options in attack. However, it would also be good for the player so that he can regain some form ahead of the World Cup with Mexico.

    1. Same here, he needs it as much as the club does, there is so much untapped potential in this kid. Maybe those sitters he was missing was due to his injuries and it kept him from positioning his body as well as his muscles reacting quick enough to finish off chances. Something wasnt right

  1. Now that I am thinking long about this it might not be a bad idea to keep him because it appears he has been playing with an injury but if Gimenez stays then some one will be sold for sure.

    1. Allegri has always wanted to keep Gimenez. Expect Gimenez, Fullkrug, and a new CF. One attacking player among Leao, Pulisic, and Nkunku will be let go for sure.
