Massimo Ambrosini has warned AC Milan fans that they might need to get their head around the idea of Daniel Maldini ending up at city rivals Inter.
After spending the second half of last season on loan at Monza, Adriano Galliani pushed to make Maldini’s deal a permanent one and he was able to do so as the playmaker joined them on a free transfer as per various reports, with Milan having a resale clause.
That particular clause might become quite significant, because there have been reports stating that Inter are keen on doing something quite unthinkable: bringing a Maldini to the blue side of the city. However, numerous sources are claiming Milan have the right of first refusal so they could disrupt things.
Ambrosini is someone who knows what it means to feel such a strong tie to the red and black shirt as the former captain of Milan, and he was asked about the idea that Daniel Maldini could end up at Inter. MilanNews relayed his comments.
Can you imagine him wearing an Inter shirt?
“We have to prepare for the fact that Daniel may take a different path.”
Is he a player who can reach that level?
“I don’t know, for the moment he isn’t. But he has put in a little more than he was even a year ago, in terms of presence on the pitch. Physically he has grown even more. I don’t know where he can get to, in my opinion he has to keep up the level of ambition and presence on the pitch.
“Then on a physical, technical and presence level on the pitch he has it. But then after that he has to make the further leap, there we have to see the continuity.”
with current owners everything is possible. there is no any more respect to anything. no values at all. let’s hope that Daniel Maldini could be still some rare exception in this strange modern world. but it’s depend on him.
i just dont understand it why would we sell maldini and kept musah?
Two different type of midfielder and it was his idea to leave.
I wanted Maldini to stay. But that choice was made when we went for Okafor who was coming in as a sub for the recent league mvp Leao.
I am glad Daniel Maldini is doing well and that the legend gets to live on. First time I saw him I thought he was going to be a defender
Classic clip. He still tackles like that. I’ve always said he shouldn’t shy away from his natural defensive abilities 🤭😁😁😁
I didn’t know this level of hatred was that big for Cardinal amount Italian even to some of our form players.
That Maldini is now working with Spaletti will likely bring this to a head much quicker and, I think, will likely force Milan to eat humble pie.
It is a tough slog with Monza, where opponents know that if they sit on Maldini and limit his opportunities in attacking areas, Monza is quite impotent (at least it has been). Maldini can be really good for Monza but it can amount to little when he is taking the ball in more midfield and defensive positions. But Italy looked different and good when Maldini came on. Working in combination with Tonali, Cambiasso, Ricci and Calafiori it took mere minutes for him to get to a piss taking level.
I think there is a realistic possibility Spaletti gives him the #10 in his 3-5-1-1. If that happens Maldini is going to shine. Spaletti is a genius at creating the patterns that a guy who knows how to play like a 10 can drift in and out of. When Maldini sprayed that pass from the right wing to the left that went out of play Spaletti’s response was encouragement.
At Monza you’ll see the grittier side of the game (which big teams like because of the defensive focus of their opponents). For Italy it will be party time.
It will never happen. Daniel will never join Inter. His father won’t allow it.
And he is rossonero his name cannot be on a nerazzuro jersey 💀
No, paolo prefer football above anything else..if inter can make daniel better player,he will support his son, doesnt mean will support inter
This will be such a huge blow for Milan history. The yankees turn this club from legendary in to a laughing stock. I heard Juventus are interested in him as well, hopefully he goes there at least and not in Inter.
The ironic part is that that in our current line-up and formation, he would be the perfect reserve for the role that Morata is playing as the CAM.
And of course there are positive list outcomes because he is ex-academy. Meanwhile we kept Jovic and cannot fit him on the UCL list.
We saw Baresi in Inter. Nothing new
That was his brother Giuseppe Baresi or “Baresi 1”
Get your head straight the ef up
That was his brother Giuseppe Baresi or “Baresi 1”
We have to face reality that these things could be a possibility
