Ambrosini highlights the two main reasons Milan struggled against Torino

It was not a good night for AC Milan against Torino as they were beaten 2-1 to end a 17-game unbeaten run in away Serie A game, and Massimo Ambrosini has highlighted where the game was lost.

The damage was done in the first half by the home team at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino as Koffi Djidji glanced a header from a free-kick in off the far post to put them 1-0 up and then less than two minutes later Aleksei Miranchuk pounced on a loose ball to fire past Ciprian Tatarusanu via a deflection.

Junior Messias did get a goal back for the Rossoneri midway through the second half as he seized an error from Torino as Buongiorno and Milinkovic-Savic had a miscommunication, but in the end Pioli’s men limped to defeat.

Ambrosini spoke to DAZN at the end of the match to pick apart the failings of the Rossoneri starting with the missed chances in the early stages and touching on the midfield.

“Leao’s mistakes could have changed the match. Then Toro managed to control the game. Milan’s defeat is unexpected but Napoli are doing something extraordinary,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).

“Milan tonight also struggled to understand the movements to be made. Bennacer was missing tonight. He manages to clean up these situations.”
