Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini praised the fans for the way they conducted their protest, while commenting on several key issues.
Ambrosini was working as a pundit for DAZN during Milan’s 2-0 win over Monza last night and he answered questions on a number of different topics, starting with the news that Igli Tare is set to become the next sporting director.

“He is a serious person who has a great culture of football. I was a bit surprised how the choice of Tare came about, it seems there was also a discussion between some parts of the club. Tare does not solve everything, he has to enter a certain type of environment,” he said (via Radio Rossonera).
“If Tare accepted it is because he had some reassurances about his role. If they decided to take him in my opinion it is because they intend to give him a certain autonomy, otherwise they would not have taken him.”
Then, the former midfielder addressed the possibility of Tijjani Reijnders being sold to Manchester City given all of the rumours circulating in the media about a possible bid coming from the Premier League side.
“If I had to sell a big name, the last one that would come to mind is Reijnders. I’d also chain Maignan. He seems like a strong personality to me, I don’t see why he can’t be a point of reference. If Milan don’t need to sell as Furlani said, if an offer for Reijnders arrives you won’t even sit at the table.”
Ambrosini gave his thoughts on who will replace Sergio Conceicao as the head coach going into next season, given that as many as 10 different profiles have been linked in the past few weeks.
“It is difficult that Conte can arrive at Milan. My feeling is that Milan wants to take Italiano, even if it will not be easy to snatch him from Bologna who are negotiating the renewal.
“The name of De Zerbi intrigues me a lot, he is someone who can give back the soul to Milan. He has the ambition to be able to coach a big club like Milan.”
Finally, he spoke about the protest from the fans: “The demonstration by Milan fans was impeccable in its manner and absolutely shareable in its content. The constant of this season for Milan is that the team has never given the impression of having the right energy.
“If you don’t have it, there has to be someone to find it. After the cooling break case, someone had to intervene. The positive things were random. The players never showed the right energy. Milan lacked soul.
“Everyone is to blame, even the players had to do more. What needs to be improved is the management of the club, it needs more heart. I think this season could have helped us understand certain things.”

Ambro says don’t sell Reijnders and don’t sell Maignan, but interestingly he didn’t say don’t sell the “superstars” Theo and Leao.
Reijnder and Maignan is still can give much to the team, so better still keep them for next season.
But for Leao and Theo, they are our great assets. Sell one or both, will give us big money, and thats good business.
In other hand, I think keep Leao and Theo for next season is still fine. And with new coach for next season, we’ll see, is Leao or Theo will become our superstar again or they will played same like this season.
If they still same like this season, then next season better to sell both of them.
We can sell Musah (15m) Emerson(10m) Chukwueze (13m), Theo (15-20m if he can leave) there are also Kalulu(14m +3m if qualify to CL), Okafor(15m) and Pobega (10m if they qualify to Europe). This is together around 95m€ for players what we want to sell…Then there is also Saelemakers (20m), also discussion about Tomori (25m) and Thiaw (30m) and we can be definitely happy with all this money and buy quality players…we don’t need to sell Raijnders and I hope Furlani really know it …
Theo is woth double that even if you do a wholesale
Yes but his contract end next year… this mean his prace is lower then his real price…if we sell him for 20m, we can be happy , otherwise next year he goes for free..
And I think he want to leave Milan after 6 years.. he won 1 scudeto and 1 super cup…
Money is an irresistible itch for furlani & co. They just need more of it.all those permutations posted are of no consequence once they receive a huge sum of money. They didn’t “need” to sell Tonali but they still did. So all these statements that they don’t need to sell translates to b.s in real life. Do not be fooled.
100%
“If Milan don’t need to sell as Furlani said, if an offer for Reijnders arrives you won’t even sit at the table.” that’s right man. but the thing is furlani loves negotiation. he would love to sit in that table.
