Ambrosini slams Milan’s season for ‘unforgivable mistakes’: “Lacked feeling and soul”

In a season where negativity has been the clear theme, AC Milan need a massive swing in results if they want to qualify for European football, which is still possible, if improbable.

This season, frustration has been present in almost every regard. Fixtures, the San Siro slash wider stadium problem, transfers and even the coaching decisions have been met with a tirade of anger, and it is not really a shock.

Of course, this has resulted in quite a toxic atmosphere around the club at times, though this is to be expected with very few rays of positivity being found across the past eight months. So, the criticisms of this squad should not come as a shock.

Today, the latest blow has arrived from Massimo Ambrosini, who knows as much as anyone about what being a Rossonero should mean, and he has scathed the squad largely for their mentality when speaking to Giulia Mizzoni on YouTube, via Calciomercato.com.

“I think Milan have a constant this season: they have had too many wrong approaches to matches. Then it’s also true that they have come back many times, like in the derbies or by playing level games like in Madrid, but this should make the players and the club very angry, because I still think this team is strong, but has made unforgivable mistakes.

“The biggest mistake? The superficiality, because a team that has this value and technical depth cannot commit certain errors of attitude. Last night, on the other hand, when the team is square and connected, they showed they can hold their own against one of the best teams in Europe.

“In my opinion, the approaches to the matches indicate that the team has lacked feeling and soul. In the last six games alone, Milan have gone down five times.

“If you miss consistently, it means you have a huge flaw from this point of view. Evidently, at the club, they have not been able to touch the right buttons, even though the players are clearly responsible and not blameless.

“If they made certain mistakes in Parma-Milan at the beginning of the year and they do it again against Napoli, it means they haven’t put things right.”

  1. There are no leaders on this team and there are no homegrown or domestic players with at least some sense of belonging and knowledge of the league, with last man standing Gabbia.

Max exodus of Scudetto winning players – Tonali, Kalulu, Bennacer, Calabria and now potentially Mike, Tomori, Theo and Leao.

Most of players bought are average at best – Pavlo, Emerson, RLC, Musah, Bondo, Chuk, Okafor. 3 out of 18 turned out to be an added value – Puli, Reijnders, Fofana. That’s 60 millions in added value from 250 millions spent.

Our midfield lacks a player who would dictate and orchestrate the play, all we have are headless chickens running up and down the field with no sense.

Both coaches fought their players with Sergio doing it in front of whole world.

Management are in dispute, drunk with power and fighting over dominance.

It’s a complete sh*thousery and utter mess. It will get worse before it gets better, cause we are in our second revolution and overhaul in 3 years.
