Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot will join the pre-season from Wednesday, when AC Milan will return to Milanello for the final preparations. A huge boost for Ruben Amorim, it must be said.
It has been a rather poor pre-season for Milan so far, with two draws and one defeat registered. In yesterday’s game against Chelsea, they didn’t even register a single shot on target, which resulted in a lot of frustration among the fans.

On the flip side, while there has been no clear identity so far for the team, it’s also because Amorim has used the games to test a lot of players. Whether that was the right thing to do, however, is a completely different question.
In any case, Milan will now enjoy two days off to recover from the intense travelling in recent days and get used to the time difference. They will be back at Milanello on Wednesday to begin preparations for the Man Utd friendly, and two familiar faces will join them.
Indeed, Maignan and Rabiot will start training with the squad again after enjoying extended holidays due to the World Cup adventure. Both are incredibly important for Milan and, aside from their quality, will add much-needed experience and leadership to the team.
For Amorim, this is crucial as heading into the season with no win would be far from ideal, especially since Torino away (the opening game) is no easy task. As such, the feeling is that we will see a starting eleven that is closer to the 2026-27 starting eleven against Man Utd on Saturday.
