It seemed pretty likely that Ruben Amorim would make a few changes for the Europa League clash against Benfica. However, the AC Milan manager has now turned that up to the max.
With few chances to rest given this season, Amorim is now expected to offer a few opportunities to new starters against Benfica, despite what reports had suggested.

This evening, a report from Sky has thrown the predicted XI from much of this week into the water, with Ruben Amorim now set to make several changes, as MilanNews relays.
Amorim’s expected Milan XI
At the back, Mike Maignan, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic will start. However, Filippo Terracciano is expected to come into the back three on the right-hand side, offering Mario Gila a chance to rest.
Ahead of them, Samuel Chukwueze will be the only surviving starter from the weekend. Yunus Musah will replace Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari will replace Adrien Rabiot and Davide Bartesaghi is expected to be given a starting role.

Ahead of them, Omari Hutchinson will be given a first start alongside Alphadjo Cisse and Goncalo Ramos will lead the line. A heavily rotated XI, indeed and it will certainly be a gamble against one of the better sides in the competition.

I really don’t believe this tbh
This starting XI makes no sense. We need to come of the gate gunning, with Moreira, Chuk, Pulisic, Cisse, Ramos the key attackers. There are always 5-6 different starting XIs predicted in the Italian football press and none of them with the exception of 1 elsewhere (MilanNews?) makes any sense.
What if …
Pulisic was injured. And, in his first game back he played 49 min instead of the programed 20 min.
Then, what if …
We had a game 4 days later. Given he is coming back from injury and coming back to fitness,
What if …
He plays from 70 on Wednesday or not at all if we are ahead by two or more.

Pulisic had a great 45 min against Lazio. But don’t mistake quality for fitness.
Fitness isn’t just “can he run today” it’s also “can he run without likely injury” and “can he run longer and with more intensity the next game and the next”.
Quality is something you have. Fitness is something you must build and then very precisely work at to maintain
Milan should play 3-4-1-2 . At that rate one striker is not enough. Should be Ramos+pullisic/cassette. Rabiot /Hutchinsonbehind to support both midfield & attack. Midfield. Chukwise. Bate. Musha. Luca/jashari. Defense= pavlo. Gilla/Gabbia. De winter/Tomori
Wtf Terraciano … Gabbia’s not fit?
What about Tomori? RCB is exactly where he should be if he is on the pitch. Hutchinson over Pulisic? Why not Moreira at LWB? Also, this heavy rotation against one of the best opponents we will face in this competition. If this rumor is true, it’s crazy and it really makes me doubt Amorim.
Same thing like with Fofana, it seems they are excluding ok players from the club just to play way worse players.
Calling Fofana a ”good” player is pure delusion.
Sorry, dejan10, this comment was not supposed to be a reply.
That one thing is why I simply don’t believe anything in this article.
I wish that kid luck and success but he’s not shown anything like a reason to be on the roster. So starting him tomorrow makes no sense
Even if the goal is to provide him a live tryout because he has been a beast in training, then so it against Lecce.
What ? And where are Estupidian and Loftus Chick ?
Maybe this is a joke…..
There’s no way he doesn’t start Pulisic after what we saw in the Lazio game…
Does he just want to pi$$ Pulisic off?
Toughest match from the schedule and he’s going with this? At least put Tomori there not Terracciano.
Yeah, Pulisic is really going to extend his contract. Even if the team does, if he doesn’t resign they need to sell him in the summer.
I told everybody this guy is an arrogant, stubborn fool. He has a need to show everyone that he knows better than everyone else. Everyone saying he must play Pulisic…He’s going to show them.
He has to pick a star player to snub to show everyone who’s boss. It was Rashford at Man United. Looks like it’s Pulisic now.
He only played Pulisic against Lazio because he was forced to. After the terrible performance at Juve, if the second half of the Lazio match went like the first half people would be calling for his job already. He’ll only play Pulisic when he needs someone to bail him out.
I agree. People should be ready for a shock. This is his comments today:
—
Obviously, you can always think: ‘We finished the match playing well, so we’ll field the same eleven in the next match.’ I’m not like that.
—
I tend to agree with your general sentiments, but let’s wait and see. If Pulisic doesn’t start but gets 30 minutes and then starts against Lecce, that’s a good sign. If he starts neither game, well, that’s unfathomable.
I’d say that mainly goes for Moreira. Amorim is very stubborn about his LWB being more of a LB than a LW. Amorim already indicated he sees Moreira as an RWB. To not play him despite what we saw in the second half against Lazio really feels like he just wants to make a point. He’s very stubborn in his tactics. I think it’s different for Puli, who’s still adjusting. Amorim already declared him the center of the project
Have you already had the official starting lineup? You’re making a fuss over a suggestion that he could start with certain players. Wait until the official lineup is given, then you can argue.
Yes, agreed. Thanks 🙂
So.. you’re saying that this man is deliberately sabotaging his own career at ACM, just to prove a point? that’s what your saying?
I’m saying he’s stupid and doesn’t learn from his mistakes because he is too arrogant and stubborn to admit he made a mistake. Either that or he is just an incredibly bad evaluator of talent that he has no clue who his best players are. Apparently there is just a huge shortage of coaches that he will a;ways get another job. He was an absolute disaster at United and Milan were so impressed they gave him even more power,
theres no way he can be dumb enough to not start moreira at lwb.
bartesaghi can get minutes vs the easier teams ffs
pulisic not starting i get if he is still not fully fit for 90 mins. He can come on and make the difference for us for sure..
This is probably one of the few matches where you need to go 100%. There is Lecce this weekend. If we can’t handle them with mostly subs, you should hang your jacket and leave already. But what do I know…
This is rubbish. Don’t believe everything you read
So totally different than the other lineup prediction on this site just an hour ago??
Sounds accurate….
They should sell Pulisic in January when there is still a market for the player. This player is in his prime and not going to be interested in sitting. The coach is stubborn and he can develop his preferred players without the pressure of the media and the fans pushing for Pulisic. It would be best for both. I think that Pulisic would welcome a part-time role with a major club in England–with a rebuilding Milan, not so much.
Where is Barteshagi? Why is Terraciano over him..
Good morning
Too many readers who understand Milan management 0,1%.
Tomori is player who cant play anymore for Milan. He is for sale and he will depart on winter or in July 2027.
RedBird is losing money by not playing champions league and they are not planing to give their money form positive balance sheet.
Milan priority is top 4 in serie a. That’s why Amorim is forced to rotate as much as possible.
That’s why we saw Estupinan and Ruben Loftus playing.
That’s why now Terracciano and Jashari playing.
They need to spread minutes for 25 players.
In a case bad season expect one big sale before July 2027, just like in case Reijnders sale to make profit in books.
There’s been all sorts of speculation with multiple different lineups proposed by the sports news media.
Amorim already said in the presser that he wasn’t going to reveal his lineup for the Benfica match ahead of time.
So, everybody is just making $hit up.
This man is bad at his job.
I’m ok with all of this EXCEPT Terracciano. He is literally the worst player on the roster. Give me, if you must, Estupinan and RLC, but please please, no Terracciano.
There’s no Estupinan and RLC, so it’s enough for me lol. But wow, how this comment box has exploded. Once again, just relax. I’m one of the biggest Pulisic supporters here, but I understand the decision to not starting him. He still has to be managed, and for now his impact might be more felt when he enters mid game rather than right from the start.
If there’s a little thing I’d change for that line up prediction is to include Moreira. He seems fit enough and can be placed on both wings.

That manager acts like he’s inventing the wheel and thinks he knows better than anyone else. If that’s the line up they are going to crush us easily
And we expected too that RLC and estupinan wont to starting eleven again until ill December
Everyone is overreacting here over a assumed starting XI when the media had it wrong in previous articles. Jesus relax everyone let’s see tonight the real XI
Sky never have the starting 11 right thou. GDS is much more accurate, so we can relax until we see GDS predicted 11 for tonight
Starting Terraciano will be asking for trouble…
