Francesco Camarda has long been the star at AC Milan, waiting for his moment to shine. However, there may be a brighter alternative.
With a player like Camarda, development can be tough. As a youngster, he has always been a class (or several) above what his age would suggest and that showed with his Serie A debut a few seasons ago. However, then it’s about making the next step.

After a loan to Lecce, most expect that step to happen this year, but it may not be so simple. Indeed, the signing of Andrej Kostic will provide some competition for him – which may be healthy, as Kostic’s agent stated – but the path becomes more difficult.
In fact, it may even change the path altogether.
Camarda’s battle with Kostic
Speaking earlier today, in an editorial for MilanNews, Antonio Vitiello looked at Camarda’s chances of being a mainstay next season and the competition he faces from Kostic.
“Ruben Amorim’s first week at Milanello has allowed the Portuguese coach to gather initial data on his available players.
“At a stage of the summer when AC Milan’s squad is still undefined, and will likely undergo significant changes between now and September due to transfers, the Portuguese coach has been pleasantly impressed by the performance of Andrej Kostic, the 19-year-old Montenegrin coming off a 12-goal season in Serbia, who is serious about securing a spot in the first-team squad for next season.
“It will be a tough battle with Francesco Camarda, who also scored during his training session at Milanello, as did Kostic. Two interesting young players, as are Comotto and Ossola, while other more experienced players will have to play.”
Camarda might be great behind the striker… I think he has great attacking sense but fighting in the box isn’t as easy as Gonaclo makes it out to be. Camarda feels more like Inzaghi than Ibra
Send Camarda to Serie B to prove first that he can play senior football like inter did with Esposito.

in my opinion the important thing is to send him to a positive environment, not to a team who will fight relegation. If Esposito had been loaned to a losing team he wouldn’t be able to put in positive performances either
yea, i know Camarda got injured while at Lecce but Lecce in Serie A barely created any chances. I’d argue that could be even more pressure than at Milan for a young kid. Lecce on average created 1.5 chances a game. That means the one chance Camarda got, he had to score. We dont even have that kind of pressure. Santi and Nkunku got 4-5 clear chances a game!
I see us eventually wasting this boy’s potential with d way we are handling him. This season we have Ramos as d main striker, then imenez as back up and this kostic. No space for camarda. I support sending him to serie b where he will have first team football and enough time and courage to shine. And then next season with gimenz gone if he still fails, then there will be space for camarda
If possible, I’d like to see Gimenez sold and have both Kostic and Camarda be the back up to Goncalo Ramos. No need to waste transfer budget on another striker. I’d much rather keep our youth talent in house especially when they have so much potential.
Exactly, no serie b or relegation zone loans, and no more wasting starts and Santi. let Camarda be 3rd choice. Milan are in 3 competitions this year so he’ll get game time and a year to learn the system and the movements RA wants.
Unfortunately we will never get what we paid for him not only because of his stats but he’s made of glass.
I agree – the best competition for those two lads is fighting for the place behind Ramos. Could be the making of both of them. Giminez is cooked..
If Camarda needs to be handed a starting spot is he that good? Personally he didn’t look that great or even average at Lecce. Maybe time out of the spotlight is better…
Kostic is real deal
Loan both of them out.
Sell Gimenez now while still have value (after injury recovery) and sign Icardi as backup striker. Camarda and Kostic as long term replacement (backup to Ramos).
We’ll need three strikers.
Camarda needs to go to England to toughen up. The technique is there. The physicality is lacking.

Sell Gimenez and sign Icardi on free transfer.
Whoever impresses Amorim the most out or Kostic and Camarda stays as third option. The other gets loaned out to a serie B club who is projected to fight in the top, and where he is guaranteed minutes.
how about loaning Santi.
If we need him in 6 months we bring him back. But he gets a fair chance at getting back to his best away from intense pressure as well. He he comes good- good for everyone. If not – good for every one again, in terms of best out come for all involved.
A big fat no to damned Icardi. You do not need a 3rd striker if your plan is to play with just one up front. What you want to with that thinking do is to ruin one of their careers.
Camarda goes to Sapmdoria. Kostic stays and competes with Ramos for first team. I wouldn’t be surprised if we would bench 74+ million singing over time.
Camarda needs to go to a club which have a higher success rate with youth development. Milan isn’t that place. For the sake of his career he should really focus on game time
