AC Milan are looking to make some sales to free spots in the squad and generate funds, but it is not proving to be easy.
Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) focus on three names this morning: Rafael Leao, Santiago Gimenez, and Fikayo Tomori. The trio, for different reasons, appear to have concluded their time at Milan, but quite when it will officially end remains a mystery.

Situations to resolve
Leao is the most emblematic case. For years, he was the face of the present and future. The acceleration, the 2021-22 Scudetto, the decisive goals: when he was on fire, Milan always had a better chance. However, football thrives on consistency, not memories.
Recent seasons have revealed a less decisive player, often incapable of leading the team through the most difficult moments. Today, his desire seems to be to test himself in the Premier League, even though the most concrete offers are coming from Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
There have yet to be any decisive moves from any of the English clubs that the winger desires, with Milan wanting €50m. Leao himself has postponed any decision on his future until after the World Cup, without closing the door on a farewell.
Gimenez arrived with the label of a striker destined to take on a weighty legacy, but the Mexican has never managed to consistently establish himself. Between adaptation difficulties and physical issues, his journey with Milan has been much more complicated than expected.
Porto are interested in exploring a deal to sign him, but so far they’ve been limited to simple enquiries, with no concrete offers. Milan do not seem inclined to sell off such a significant investment for a low price.
Tomori meanwhile is perhaps the most obvious symbol of how quickly football can change. From being the leader of the Italian champions’ defence and the protagonist of performances that established him as one of Serie A’s best centre-backs, the English defender has gradually declined.
With only one year left on his contract, this summer represents the last chance to cash in on his sale and avoid losing him on a free in 12 months. His name is also among those destined to leave Milanello under Ruben Amorim’s new leadership, with Juventus recently linked.
Leao, Gimenez, and Tomori have all contributed, at different times, to the Rossoneri cause. But cycles end, especially when performances do not match ambitions, and the club chooses to take a new direction.

Tomori is the fastest CB we’ve & look their stat, result of game with/ without them, defender need to be smart more than speed to “read the game”, Billy & Baresi is not fast but they really good at neutralize opposition attack

Hope no one is crying; change is the law of life. PSG spent years trying to hold on to Mbappe; gave him more money than he imagined in his life. They did everything for their prized possession, just so that they could win the champions league. He left, and, they win it. Then again. Who ever imagined Real Madrid bringing back Jose Mourinho, after all the furore, and, now, Mourinho’s dearth of football hardwares in the past 4 years. Life is full of twists and turns.
