Ruben Amorim responded to the words of Christian Chivu during his press conference earlier today, or rather, he responded to the journalists asking him about them.
Milan have got off to a good start under Amorim’s guidance, winning their first two games of the season. Tomorrow, however, the biggest test yet awaits as they will be up against Juventus away from home (a fixture they haven’t won in over three years).

Many would agree that it’s a big game, and if you ask Strahinja Pavlovic, it could almost be labelled a Scudetto game. Inter manager Christian Chivu doesn’t think so though, stating at his presser that the derby maybe shouldn’t even be considered a direct clash
Amorim puts his foot down
Amorim was asked about this during his pre-match press conference on Saturday. However, instead of responding to Chivu, he highlighted to the journalists that there would be something seriously wrong with Milan if they were to focus on those quotes.
What do you think of Chivu’s words?
“Nothing. I’m just focused on our game. What I know is that if we win, we will be top of the league along with someone else. I have nothing to say about that.”

Once again on Chivu’s words…
“Regarding Chivu, if we need words from him to win titles at Milan, then there’s something wrong with us. I know that it’s hard for the fans to hear, but for all of us who love the club, we have to admit that we have a lot of work to do.
“The biggest concern is winning just two Scudetti in 20 years. We don’t need the words of Chivu to motivate us. Milan is a very historic club with seven Champions League trophies, but in 20 years, they have zero Coppa Italia trophies and two Scudetti. Something’s wrong. I don’t care what Chivu says,” he stated.

24 league titles

7+1 (1993)
👍
True, many forget Inter got 2 scudettis without winning it.
Well, rubentus were stripped of their two titles, but that one from
2005 wasn’t assigned to anyone. Milan deserved those two titles,
not rubentus or our neighbours/younger brother. Whether Inter
MORALLY deserved that title for the 2006/07 is open for debate, rubentus were relegated (more than deservedly so) and we were deducted eight points but Inter ended that season with 97 points
so I think they would’have probably won it either way, deduction
or not. On the other hand, one thing about this has to be made
clear for good, we didn’t do anything that can’t be said for Inter
as well, if we were guilty of something back then, they were too.
Isak, this one (this part of an interview) is very important as well:
“Oh, and there’s another controversy: the fixtures. A topic that’s been a hot topic for AC Milan fans for years, who feel penalized. Amorim responds to a question about the sequence of four games in 10 days and doesn’t hold back: “I’ve never seen anything like this, a sequence of games like this, I’ve never seen it even in the Premier League. It’ll be tough, but we’ll rotate, we’ll rotate, and everyone will get minutes. I want to see them all until January.”
Ah I missed that, Milan’s livestream cut out for a brief moment and it must have been during that answer. I will add in to the original presser article
Thank you and thank you for not being a stranger at all but always very inclusive.
respect for reading the comments Isak and even more respect for replying
on an off note,, at what point would allegri know to not always seat back when in the lead,, he would have won that inter game
Inter are the oldest squad in Serie A.
While that makes for a team that plays with great cohesiveness, that also makes it more likely for them to suffer more injuries.
Last season, Lautero Martinez was injured early on, and he was also not scoring much, which was the main reason Inter got off to such a slow start.
This season, Lautero Martinez has started off well, scoring a double in their recent victory over Napoli.
So, it will be interesting to see how well the aging Inter squad holds up this season in terms of injuries
