Ancelotti shares thoughts on Rangnick: “He was in love with Sacchi’s Milan”

In recent months, Ralf Rangnick has been heavily linked with AC Milan, as the Rossoneri are preparing for a youth revolution this summer in the style of RB Leipzig. The German, therefore, is the perfect candidate.

Earlier today, former Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti appeared on Carlo Pellegatti’s Instagram live (via Milanlive.it). Among other things, he was asked about the rumours linking Rangnick to Milan, having spent so many years on the red and black bench.

“At Milan, they have to scare the insufficient managers, not the foreign ones. We met when I was in Germany. I don’t know him, from what I read he was in love with Sacchi’s Milan, but I don’t know the methodology,” he stated.

Although the move hasn’t been confirmed yet, taking over Milan remains a very likely hypothesis for Rangnick. CEO Ivan Gazidis is keen on putting him in charge of the new project, perhaps offering him a role as sporting director and manager.

He would be the first foreign manager of the Rossoneri since the 2015/16 season, when Sinisa Mihajlovic was in charge of the team. Hopefully this time, it will work out a bit better as the Serbian was sacked before the season ended.
