Moretto: André to Milan ‘95% closed’ – why legal action through FIFA is being evaluated

AC Milan are very close to closing the deal to sign André from Corinthians, Matteo Moretto has confirmed, but there is a final hurdle.

Often there are links for days or even weeks with a player that hint that something is cooking, and yet Fabrizio Romano surprised everyone on Saturday night when he reported that Milan are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign André in a deal that would be worth around €12-13m.

This was then practically confirmed by Corinthians director Marcelo Paz in an interview given later in the day. Then, a report from ESPN Brasil on Sunday claimed that there is the risk of FIFA having to get involved, because the final signature from the president of the Brazilian club is missing.

André to Milan ‘95% done’

Moretto has given an update on the latest concerning Andrè during a video on Fabrizio Romano’s Italian YouTube channel, and he suggested that he expects things to still go through despite the current tensions.

“There are still some issues to resolve regarding André-Milan, it almost seems like a media sensation. For some, André resembles Ederson, a box-to-box midfielder with great physical and athletic qualities,” he began.

“The Rossoneri have effectively locked him up for €12-13m plus bonuses, potentially reaching a total of €17m. The boy already has an agreement with Milan until 2031, a long contract, but the deal isn’t yet 100% complete. The final signature from Corinthias president Omar Stabile is still missing.

“This type of obstacle is holding up the deal, which is why it hasn’t been finalised yet. Milan are strong on the documents signed between the clubs, and they know they’re in the right. They’re reportedly evaluating a legal transaction directly with FIFA. As of today, André-Milan is a 95% closed deal.”

  1. Is the President’s signature missing because he doesn’t want to sell the player, or because the team can’t find him?😀

It’s hard to believe that little tidbit of information was missing from Moretto’s scoop!

    1. He’s not selling him for that price (anymore) because their coach told him that the kid is worth way more than the already agreed price.
