One of the players that came on in the second half of AC Milan’s friendly against Arsenal today was Andrea Bozzolan, and he spoke prior to the game amid what is a special experience for him.
Bozzolan has been training with the first team for the first time, and it is a testament to both the positive work he has been doing with the Primavera but also the results that Ignazio Abate’s side have been achieving.
They topped their UEFA Youth League group which included the talent factor of Chelsea, last season’s finalists Red Bull Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb who have also produced their fair share of gems.
Bozzolan has become a mainstay at left-back in that team, and he spoke of his emotions in an interview granted to the microphones of Milan TV, with his comments relayed by PianetaMilan.
“It’s a dream come true, it’s the first time I’ve been added to the first team with all these champions and with the staff, I’ll try to do well. Even just saying hello to Maldini is a strong emotion, he’s my idol and always makes a great effect. But I have to stay calm, keep calm and play football,” he said.
“Everyone gives me excellent advice and is always kind. The one who gave me the most was Leao, Brahim Diaz and Florenzi always help me. Theo Hernandez? I’m following all of his matches at the World Cup, he’s a point of reference and he’s doing very well. When I train I take inspiration from what he does to bring something home.
“I hope to come on and be calm, what matters is being able to play well. It has a certain effect, but the important thing is to remain calm and play well. Pioli helps me a lot both tactically and personally, I take it all in. He’s always very calm, but when it comes to raising his tone, he does it. It’s a great emotion for me to train with him and I hope to be able to do it other times in the future.”
