The Prosecutor’s Office of the Football Federation has just opened an investigation into the anti-Juventus chants chanted by AC Milan players.
ANSA (via MilanNews) recall how during their coach journey to the airport after the match against Roma, some members of the Milan squad were filmed singing a song that includes a line mocking Juve, and it was then posted on social media.
The Federal Prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè, it transpires, having acquired the videos which immediately went viral, decided to shed light on the episode to ascertain any violation of the canons of loyalty, probity and correctness and identify those responsible.
It is unclear at the moment what kind of punishment would be incurred but it would be safe to presume a fine rather than anything more severe.
Of course, there are deeper questions to be asked about the prosecutor focusing on incidents such as this rather than the actual challenges that Serie A faces.
