Milan remain in the running as Aouar responds strongly to Eintracht Frankfurt rumours

AC Milan appear to still be in the running for Houssem Aouar as they player took to social media to denounce rumours he is heading for Germany.

Aouar is out of contract at the end of the season and seems destined not to renew with Lyon thus making him available for a free transfer, with Milan among the teams linked by various sources given their need to reinforce the midfield.

However, Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger reported yesterday that Eintracht Frankfurt are close to signing Aouar ahead of 2023-24. The 24-year-old apparently turned down proposals from other clubs in summer, including Manchester United.

Berger said that there is nothing signed yet but negotiations are in the advanced stages, with a signing fee of €5m ready and a salary of around €3m net per season.

Aouar has since responded to that news, tweeting: “Some people know before me where I’m going to play next season…it’s great! 🤩🤣”

The Rossoneri remain in the running therefore, and Relevo recently reported that Aouar has not yet decided where he will play next season but he knows that he wants to play in the Champions League next season, with Milan currently leading the race to land him.
