Arsenal midfielder’s agent names Milan among possible summer destinations

By Ben Dixon -

Planning for the summer mercato has already begun, and with that, there is a chance that AC Milan will invest in a new midfielder if the opportunity to do so is right.

There have been several suggestions for where Milan may act in the upcoming summer window, and whilst the majority of fingers point towards the acquisition of a new central defender or (potentially and) a new striker.

However, as was the case with the January mercato, all the opportunities presented to the Rossoneri will be evaluated, and one of the options they may look at will be Jorginho. The Italian midfielder has had links regarding a move to Milan for some time, but the club have never acted on their interest.

This summer, though, there may be an opportunity to finally make the former Napoli midfielder theirs. His game-time at Arsenal has been limited this season. Therefore, he could be available this summer for a cut price, which could tempt the Rossoneri into acting.

As a result, his agent has spoken to TV Play and offered insight into where he could move this summer, with several Serie A clubs interested in him – his words have been relayed by Football Italia.

“He’d suit Lazio more, for the presence of coach Sarri who already knows his characteristics very well, but also Juve who have a great director of sport like Cristiano Giuntoli, who he spent many years with at Napoli.”

“I would not rule out a return to Napoli with new coach Calzona, who used to work with Sarri before that.”

“I don’t think Roma would be likely, because there has never been any contact with them, but when it comes to their strength and tradition, everyone would love to play for Milan and Inter.”

    1. Since we compare with Inter all the time, they’re fine with their old slow midfielders. Maybe we have to stop thinking that a player over 30 yo is trash. This is only good for trading, not to build a strong squad.

    2. Jorginho, Reinjder, Bennacer trio would definitely dominate the midfield. I don’t care if he’s slow this isn’t FIFA. He’ll be a great addition the midfield quality will definitely increase.
