AS: Real Madrid man not keen on summer exit forcing Milan to focus on Man Utd defender

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management may have one less target on their wish list as the chances of signing Alvaro Odriozola have reportedly faded.

Odriozola has been repeatedly linked with a move to Milan by various sources over the past month or so, as the full-back – owned by Real Madrid – represents a profile suitable for the Rossoneri’s project, given that he is still young but has good experience.

He was talked about as a potential deputy/rotation option with Davide Calabria in case Manchester United did not let Diogo Dalot come back out on loan. However, Spanish source AS (via PianetaMilan) reveals that Odriozola would like to stay in Madrid to fight for a starting place under Carlo Ancelotti.

The Spaniard has been in excellent form during the preseason retreat and wants to try and make things work with Los Blancos, despite the fact Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez were preferred over him last season.

Milan are evaluating alternatives therefore, and the name Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara most appreciate is to Diogo Dalot. Now, we wait and see if he returns, otherwise a new target is needed.

  1. Exactly!

Besides, Odriozola is pretty bad according to RM fans. He was on loan to Bayern but made hardly any contribution and got basically no playing time.

Better to give the playing time to our own player Kalulu.
