AS: Reina closing in on move to Valencia as Milan agree to let him go for free

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to let Pepe Reina leave on a free transfer as Valencia are closing in on an agreement with the veteran goalkeeper, a report claims.

The 37-year-old joined Aston Villa on loan for the second half of the 2019-20 season, helping them secure Premier League status, but it seems the idea of a permanent move to the Birmingham club is not on the cards.

His return to Milan is only expected to be a passing visit though as several reports have claimed that the club wish to offload his salary, and Diario AS (via MilanNews) are reporting that Reina is closing in on finding alternative accommodation.

The Spanish outlet claims that the former Liverpool man has reached an agreement with Valencia over personal terms, and the move is expected to be confirmed soon as Milan are willing to let Reina leave without asking for a transfer fee.
