Milan Futuro were denied three crucial points by a late equaliser, scored following an unnecessary red card. For Mattia Sandri it was especially hurtful, having scored and assisted to lead his side towards a victory.
Daniele Bonera and Milan Futuro have been under tremendous pressure lately, struggling at the bottom of the Serie C table. For a long time, it looked like they were destined to clinch all three points today, taking on Ascoli away from home.
Just one minute into the second half, Milan managed to break the deadlock thanks to the new signing Simone Ianesi, who provided some instant impact. A clever run by Sandri was the start of it all and his pass couldn’t have been any better.
Unfortunately, in the 60th minute, Ascoli found the back of the net as their striker Francesco Forte made the most of a cross. He headed his effort past Noah Raveyre in goal and wheeled away in celebration.

Bonera’s men were having none of it, though, once again taking the lead thanks to brilliance from Sandri. The midfielder picked up the ball at the halfway line and thanks to Ascoli playing with a high line, he was able to run at the goal and find the net with a great finish.

In the 84th minute, the manager decided to replace Leonardo D’Alessio with Antonio Gala and it’s a sub that ended up playing a big role. Indeed, just seconds after coming on, Gala was shown a red card due to a poor foul/slap.

Three minutes later, Ascoli found the equaliser through Simone D’Uffizi who made the most of a loose ball after a corner. As the referee blew his whistle for full-time, the Futuro players were visibly disappointed after yet another huge blow. In short, the struggles continue.
Red card ten seconds after coming in?!
What an intro!
Wow. I hope (for the sake of the officials) that there was more damning evidence than that video above for the red card. I can’t see any actual contact with this face in that video. Just a dooshbag lying on the ground and play acting.
