Aston Villa have asked about signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek, it has been confirmed, but AC Milan have already made a counter-move.

Loftus-Cheek has been linked with several different clubs during the January window despite his regular use under Massimiliano Allegri. Now, Matteo Moretto has provided some clarification on what the Englishman’s future at Milan looks like, confirming that talks are underway over a contract renewal.

The journalist states that in these final days of the winter window, Aston Villa have shown strong interest in Loftus-Cheek. They conducted exploratory surveys both with the player’s entourage and directly with Milan.

However, the Birmingham club never made an official offer, held back by the clear position of the Rossoneri management. The Rossoneri directors consider the former Chelsea player a key element in Allegri’s tactical plan.

Not only that, but Milan want toextend their relationship with the player. The parties are already working together, and further contacts are expected soon to secure the midfielder with a renewal of his deal expiring in 2027.

“Aston Villa understand that Milan don’t want to part with the player,” Moretto explained, emphasising that the door to a sale is currently closed. For this reason, Loftus-Cheek’s agents are expected in Milan in the coming days to advance negotiations regarding a new contract.

  1. I thought we were back being productive after Maignan renewal… what does RLC bring except wasting 4M early…

midfield only needs regista… Ricci, Fofana and next year Bondo as well will be better box-to-box than this bozo…

does he have Cardinale in epstein files? how is he getting renewal? Lazio were also open to take him away, Gila deal could have been done

    1. quality CB and a regista… how hard can it be ffs

Barca want to sell Casado, Perrone is developing right in Italy under Fabregas… you want to tell me none of them would want 18 month 1on1 training under Luka?!

      1. No. They want to play not sign to go sit on a bench and stall their development. Players get better by playing not by being the understudy

  2. Chase this fraud out of milan, even if we have to terminate his deal. Renewal will be a big mistake, worse will be if he’s Salary is increased.

  3. RLC plays football like he’s just found out his cat’s died. He looks like he’d rather be anywhere other than on the pitch.
