Pedulla: Atalanta asked Milan for Pavlovic information – why talks could be revived

Strahinja Pavlovic has been linked with several moves away from AC Milan in this mercato, and Atalanta are not giving up with their requests.

Türkiye seemed a likely destination for the Serbian initially with Galatasaray and Feyenoord eyeing the defender on loan and permanent deals. However, the defender turned down both opportunities, wishing to continue with Milan.

However, the club are clearly not against the idea of a deal to part ways, and a track may have been revived.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Atalanta requested information about the centre back yesterday, after the news the Giorgio Scalvini will spend another long period sidelined. However, things went quiet quickly due to Tottenham’s interest in Fikayo Tomori.

Obviously, a move for the Englishman is now all but off the table, with the former Chelsea defender rejecting the move back to London, and as a result, perhaps the path to Pavlovic could be relit with Atalanta.

The Rossoneri have made it clear that they are not against parting ways with a defender, and with Tomori’s exit no longer on the cards, Pavlovic could be offered another chance to depart. Whether the prospect of joining Atalanta will be enough, though, remains to be seen.

    1. Scalvini gets 1 or 2 injuries per year and you think he is some sort of godly defender because he is Italian lmao

You guys are becoming worse than England fans overhyping English players

      1. You do know that England have reach the semi-finals of the World Cup and final of the Euros in recent years, right, not to mention Kane, Bellingham and Foden being among the best players in 3 of the best teams in Europe so how are English players overhyped? Right now, England happen to be producing more talent than most other nations.

        1. Foden had a terrible Euro’s. Kane didn’t produce as well. Then Bellingham did well but that was it. The English fans were saying the same thing about Foden after the euros and that is the English media does insane PR to hype up good players to be seen as great players. The same thing was said about Rashford and the same thing was said about Grelish.

I have eyes and can see these players and can tell how good they are compared to what the media around them say. The verdict is that these players are good but not that good considering how the media values them.

        2. Yeah and still won nothing after spending the most money out of any nation, doesnt mean anything

and I like how you ignore the Scalvini comment because you damn well know he isnt a good player and you have nothing to say

    1. I don’t think they’re that stupid. The sale rumours lit a fire under his arse and he’s been the best player in the last 2 matches. That they were prepared to send Tomori to Juve shows you how much they value him. Money is tight at the moment because of the UCL screw up, but they’ll just have to be careful in the summer. Fortunately, because players who leave tend to do well, there’s still a market for Chuck, Okafor and others.

      1. In my opinion Milan will see a decent amount of money coming in from player sales in the summer. CDK money is to come in this coming summer, Adli has done really well, Sala at Roma has done really well. Then Maldini just went to Atalanta. Then you have Vasquez doing well. I forget how well Colombo is doing but he can leave for a profit as well.

Thats a good 40-50 mil in sales of fringe players. Then you add the sale of Calabria. Who knows how much that frees up for Milan in wages and potential transfer fees and that is all profit.

Then Pobega is also on loan at Bologna and he isn’t doing to bad. Then there is brescianini at Atalanta who is also doing really well. He has a 50 percent owned to us from any transfer fee. He is someone I would rather have at the club but so be it.

That kind of money can get you Ricci. Then there is a strong chance Emerson is gone by the summer. There is money to be made and to money to come in without lifting a finger.

        1. Exactly. Makes zero sense to sell the one player whose value is increasing week by week. And especially as his importance to US is growing too.

    2. Considering that Milan looks now like an attic sale or something, teams are going to suppose that any player is open for sale.

  1. You don’t have to sell him… not even mow that he’s showing his worth.

No central back should be sold now, till the summer.

  2. Atalanta is making a mistake, they should have asked for Gabbia. Gabbia is an italian so the current Milan management will be open if an offer arrives.

    1. Gabbia is slow and given that Milan is going to play with a high line again he will be in front of the line for buyers. He was caught in the last game because of this. His lack of being good under pressure when Milan play with a high line is a know weakness for Gabbia. The same with Thiaw. Paplovic has the same issues but he has somehow proven to not be incapable of dealing with playing with a high line.

  3. Talks cannot be revived and this guy is unsalable! Pavlovic is miles ahead of mediocre, average, back-passing 25 years Gabbia, who reached his sealing 7 years ago.

Gabbia is Como level at best, I don’t think he is good enough to play for Atalanta. He never was & never will be. That is why they are not interested in him.

    1. Wow! With Calabria gone, I see there’s a new italian guy that has become the next scapegoat for the non-italian ‘fans’ of ac milan.

  4. Leave Pavlo alone. WTF is up with this? Offload Tomori in the summer, Reinforce Thiaw, Pavlo and Gabbia with a good defensive mid line.

  5. If they even humor this, I’ve lost all faith. These clowns will happily watch this club burn if it makes them a profit. We’ve become a clownshow…
