CM: Atalanta striker compared to Haaland on Milan’s radar but price is now €50m+

Rasmus Hojlund is attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs after impressing since arriving at Atalanta in the summer, with AC Milan having him on their radar.

Calciomercato.com begin a report by talking about the obvious points of comparison between Hojlund and Erling Haaland as they are both tall, powerful, fast and Scandinavian, with an eye for goal as well of course.

To beat the competition from the big clubs around Europe, Atalanta had to pay €17m to land the 20-year-old from Sturm Graz, but their investment is being repaid already with six goals in 20 games including one against Lazio at the weekend.

Now that €17m seems a small price to pay considering how much Atalanta could potentially sell for. Milan thought about a move in the summer when the scouting team had reported Hojlund to Paolo Maldini and the Rossoneri director was particularly impressed, but basically the entire budget when on Charles De Ketelaere.

Juventus also tested the ground without going that far because they already have Vlahovic and Kean in that role, so now La Dea can smile as they are already thinking ahead to a huge capital gain.

The big names in the Premier League are moving towards Hojlund for an evaluation that will soon break through the €50m mark as Atalanta’s trend of getting there first to talent continues.
