AC Milan will soon complete another exit in the summer transfer window as an agreement has been reached with Atalanta over Yunus Musah.
Musah has seemingly faced an uncertain fate all summer. When Napoli were first linked it appeared as though a move there was imminent, and then things hit the brakes because a deal could not be agreed.

Then reports emerged suggesting that Massimiliano Allegri actually wanted to keep the American because of his versatility. However, in the past few days it is Atalanta who have been pushing to complete a deal, and now they have done so.
Musah to Atalanta: Here we go!
Now, Fabrizio Romano has given the following update: “Yunus Musah to Atalanta, here we go! Deal verbally agreed with AC Milan for loan with option to buy not mandatory.
“Total package worth €25m between loan fee and potential future buy. Musah will sign new deal at Milan before going out on loan.”
Matteo Moretto adds: “It’s done for Yunus Musah to Atalanta. The details of the deal have been confirmed: a paid loan with an option to buy. Before moving to Bergamo, the midfielder will renew his contract with the Rossoneri.”
Musah therefore will not depart in a permanent deal but rather will have to wait until the end of the season to see if he will join La Dea fully.
So instead of selling Musah, Jimenez and Chukwueze we are loaning them?

If they aren’t good they are coming back to Milan? Why are we loaning them? If Atalanta could have paid 25M for Krstovic they could have made this at least an obligation to buy next season. Same for Jimenez. Both of these players had interest and offers from other clubs. For Chukwueze there was no one else interested so ok.
We loan them, because noone wants to buy them or the players dont want to go to clubs who want to buy them. At least you get a few millions with these loans and if they succeed at the clubs, the clubs will pay the full amount.
Did you even read what I wrote? There was interest for both Musah and Jimenez, from the beginning of the window. Milan waited for the last 3 days and then went for it…

Jimenez’ contract has conditional purchase options.
You give the clubs a choice to pick if they will sign the player. For example, Juric works Musah to the ground, he breaks his leg and is out for 8 months. Back to Milan. For who exactly is this a good deal but Atalanta?

Well… At least we don’t have to suffer in agony and watch Musah ruin Milan’s matches this season AND Atalanta actually pays Milan 4M€ for it. I’d call it a massive win for Milan and its fans! IF for some strange reason Atalanta ends up buying him (they won’t…) it would be even better.

A dry loan would be better than this. Actually, would quite like that because I think he’s got potential to be an excellent player.

By loaning him with an option. The option should be mandatory after easily achievable metrics. He is rubbish, he’s gonna be back next season after yet one more bad season, one year older and with one year less on his contract.
Or the immensely unlikely scenario where he performs fantastically. Atalanta asks for a price reduction and to be paid within the next 15 seasons. And this spineless pushover management will agree.
Bad choice, after one year Atalanta want discount if they even want to buy him. Like they did for De Ketelaere.

Its the loan with option, that is really bad. If he is good this season, Atalanta will get him cheap and if he sucks we get a player back with lower market value.
4m for the loan + 26 for the option and 10% future sale is not cheap

Sry but both of this deals for Musah and Jimenez are bad and make no sense. Only options so you get no money and also leaving yourself exposed by not having replacment for them, what the heck is going on?
Smart move, Tare. No point keeping players that will not feature prominently this season. They can still come back, like Saelemaekers, if they do well, or we get good money for them, if the clubs decide to sign them permanently, after their loans.
musah is coming back next summer like okafor from napoli. at least milan will get 4 mil for a loan.

Musah renew his contract with Milan before joint Atalanta. I think Atalanta only loan + to buy if the conditions are met, end of season he will be back to Milan. Milan shouldnt sign rabiot with permanent deal. Tare manouvre it’s not smart enough. Well, next season Milan too much in the midfielders.
