Samuele Ricci could end up at Atalanta this summer, according to a report, as Maurizio Sarri is pushing for his arrival.
Ricci was the first signing that Milan made last summer, reaching an agreement with Torino at around €23m. However, with just eleven starts in the league last season, he didn’t find much space under Massimiliano Allegri’s guidance and that has continued with Ruben Amorim.

Indeed, it seems that the midfielder’s tenure at the club is heading for an early ending, with Milan set to focus on Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot, Christian Comotto, and Ardon Jashari for the four midfield spots available.
Atalanta keeping tabs
On his YouTube channel, the journalist Alfredo Pedulla shared an update on Ricci, stating that Sarri would like to have him at Atalanta. When the manager coached Empoli, the midfielder was one of the more promising players in the academy.
“We talked about him before the transfer market opened, at the end of May, a concrete target of Atalanta. Sarri sees him as his protege and wanted him at all costs at Lazio, and now he’s an opportunity for Atalanta.
“They need to come forward and make an offer of at least €20m. One other Italian club has enquired, as has a foreign one. I believe that things between Ricci and Milan are over,” he stated.

Yeah, good luck with that. What 40 million are you talking about, man? His real value is 20 million at best, there’s not a single club in the world that would be willing to table 40 million for such a mediocre midfielder.
Milan need to get rid of Tomori, Estupiñán, RLC, Terracciano, Athekame, Saelemaekers, Fofana, Leao and Gimenez before the market close.
What about Bondo, Ricci and Musah?
I’d definitely add Bondo and Musah as well as Odogu but I would keep RLC and definitely would not let go of Ricci!

Agree 10000% with jimi. Amorim is showing us he is no better than fonseca and concenciao — makes no sense to send ricci away …. i would never sell an international player …. he needs to play on a regular basis ….. can we please send amorim back to manchester united as soon as possible???

Yes, Modric is one of the greatest to ever play the game, but no good playing him as a 1st team player with both Ricci and Jashari on the bench, he should be used sparingly and to bring the others on.

the only explanation for this i think milan is desperate to make some sales. so instead selling those who actually need to leave first they sell whoever had suitor first.
anyway, they got too many player in that midfield for two spots. rabiot and modric seen as ready player. and others seen as rotation or prospect. they talk about developing player. but they keep only selling them after a year of bench warming role. also they change football philosophy every time they changed coach….
btw i don’t think it’s a good idea to see modric as key player with his age even last season he failed to lead this team past winter. his minute need to be maintained. that’s why other player need to step up and develop.
I would keep Ricci and sell Jashari instead. But first get rid of Players like Musah, Fofana, RLC and Bondo. So many useless player in the squad
Can one person in recall one single game that Ricci played quality football? Just one! Why on earth should he play if he has not shown that he has the quality required?? 33+ matches played. All poor. Being Italian does not get you into the team…performing at a higher level than the others does…Ricci has never done that!
And Jashari? Interviews don’t count. When did he have 5 minutes of good play? You can add Swiss national team to the mix so it is easier. 😀

Man Dont sell Massimo Abrosinis heir. This guy will come good. Just loan him out for more playing time and development. Sell Musah. plus we need to freaking get out wingbacks. the season is almost here. WTF coach. we need 1. defender who can play ball, 2 1x left and right wingbacks. the rest can be sorted out but this is what we def need. not too worried about the attack as we have enough players that can play in that trident. Ramos, Camarda, Kostic, Nkunku, Pulisic, RLC, Leao if he doesnt go, Even Modric can play there. Plus the young ones like cisse etc.
Being Italian is not a qualification. You actually have to be a good player. and Ricci has not proven that he is good enough.
