Zachary Athekame has put in an official transfer request in order to try and push through a move to AC Milan, according to a report.
According to Swiss source Ticinonline, Young Boys will host Basel at the Sankt Jakob stadium on Wednesday evening. However, they are unlikely to field Athekame against the Rhinelanders in any case.

An agreement has already been reached with Milan over terms, and the 20-year-old has asked the Bern club to be sold. The offer and demand are not far apart, so a deal could arrive in the next few days for around €8-9m.

Sky Switzerland confirm that Athekame wants to join the Diavolo. The right-back is ‘close to completing a sensational move after a brilliant season at Young Boys’.
After a full season in Bern, the Swiss U21 international is in talks to reach an agreement on his personal terms with his possible new club. Should this happen, Athekame would sign a long-term contract with the Rossoneri, running until June 2030.
Negotiations between the clubs are currently in full swing. The selling side rejected an initial offer from Milan of €7m for his talent, estimating the right-back’s value at €10m. Milan could easily finalise this deal, but they want to pay the right price.
Despite BSC Young Boys’ firm stance on this matter, the parties remain resolutely positive about reaching an agreement. Discussions are ongoing.

@Fredo, I hope you won’t mention Doue because he’s not even a name that’s known. If not for his kid bro at PSG I believe his name wouldn’t have popped up as a defensive candidate for Milan. At this point is better for Milan to build up the kind of players and team they want. All we need as fans is a team of players that are ready to fight for the famous black and red and also management that can manage our players rather than selling our assets off. I even read that Athekame has officially requested to be sold to Milan.
No not Doue, didn’t even know he existed before we were linked. Personally I would rather us stick to our own, between Saelemakers, Jimenez, Terraciano and Magni, we would be fine. Outside of what we already have, there is Mattia Zanotti, good young Italian playing in Swiss league as well, Zanoli from Napoli and Zappa from Cagliari, both decent young and affordable with plenty of serie A experience. That is my personal opinion, no doubt I will be slated for it.

Nobody knows Thiago Silva when Milan bought him. He played and make name for himself at Milan and same can be said about so many other young players who did not carry popular names in their youth days.
