Athletic: Barcelona midfielder not keen on Inter move due to Milan attachment

Inter wanted to explore a move to bring in Franck Kessie from Barcelona but he did not want to betray AC Milan, according to a report.

According to the latest from The Athletic, Kessie is the subject of interest from Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli and they would be open to the idea of selling the Ivorian for a figure in the region of €30m.

Kessie joined Barca from Milan on a free transfer, while Al Ahli have offered him the chance to double his wages but the midfielder and his representatives made it known they ‘would need a better offer to consider leaving’.

Al Ahli are expected to improve their bid, while Xavi has told Kessie he will likely play a reduced role over the coming season after the signing of Ilkay Gundogan despite him being the one who pushed for his arrival.

The report adds that Kessie has been linked with a move to Inter to replace Marcelo Brozovic but he is not keen on joining his former club’s city rivals because he ‘still feels fondly for AC Milan’.

    1. Yep. Barca and his agent got rich, meanwhile he has to choose between sitting on the bench or going to Saudi Arabia, instead of being a key player at Milan. That’s what you get for letting your agent make your life choices.

  1. So… Kessie says he feels fondly for Milan. We all know what his words are worth. By August he will play for the Nerazzurri.

  2. He got what he deserved. Dude couldn’t see he can’t play at Barcelona and made a fool out of himself. Not a single club will give 30M for him, he isn’t worth it. Amrabat is 7 times better.

Enjoy Saudi Arabia, you will look like you are really good there.

  3. Yes bring him back, it’ll settle all sort of problems in midfield. This new Milan is all about less-emotion less-romanctism, more-logical more data driven kinda style right? If we can sell Tonali, then why can we buy Kessie?
