Athletic: Milan-linked striker expected to leave Arsenal this summer – the latest

AC Milan are looking for a striker to reinforce their squad this summer and one of the players on their list is Folarin Balogun. After his success at Reims, the Arsenal-owned man is set to leave permanently this summer.

Milan’s 0-0 draw against Empoli highlighted the dire situation up front as both Divock Origi and Ante Rebic have failed to impress this season. In the summer, therefore, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are expected to sign a striker.

According to The Athletic, AC Milan are indeed one of the teams interested in Balopgun, who has scored 18 goals in Ligue 1 this season. In spite of his success, though, the 21-year-old is likely to leave Arsenal in the summer.

The Gunners are expected to bet on Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nkhetia for the centre-forward role, per the report, and Balogun is not keen on another loan move. In addition to Milan, the likes of Inter, Marseille, Monaco and RB Leipzig are also interested in giving him a starting spot.

It remains to be seen what the price tag will be, but Calciomercato.com, suggests that it could be around €35m. A high figure for Milan, but one that will be within their reach in the event of a top-four finish.
