A journalist from The Athletic has confirmed that New York City FC want Christian Pulisic, but AC Milan do not want to even entertain the approach.
Pulisic has been the topic of transfer discussion in recent days. The Milan winger has been at the centre of rumours regarding a potential approach from MLS side NYCFC, with reports of a €50m contract being on the table.

Pulisic to NYCFC unlikely
Last night, further confirmation of Milan’s stance on their talisman emerged from the USA. The Athletic’s Tom Bogert outlined the situation while speaking on CBS Sports Golazo during one of the World Cup broadcasts. MilanVibes relayed the discussion.
Question to Bogert: “But Tom, let’s talk a little about these transfers. And we have to start with the most important one, Christian Pulisic. There are rumors that some MLS teams, including New York City FC, are interested in him. Could we see Pulisic play here in the United States? What do you know about it?”
Bogert’s answer: “The short answer is: if you’re referring to this summer, no. New York City FC is very interested in Christian Pulisic , or at least is considering it. It would be a complicated deal.
“It would also be expensive. AC Milan has made it clear that he is not for sale this summer. He has 12 months left on his contract, but AC Milan has the option to extend it for another 12 months.
“I don’t know if they’ve already exercised that option, but I have to tell you that I have a strong feeling they will exercise it, giving him two years left on his contract instead of one.
“So, even if they were planning to sell him at any time, they have some leeway, and he won’t leave either on a free transfer in 12 months or for a lower fee this summer.
“But, again, I want to be clear: AC Milan is going through a transition period right now; they have a new coach. They have a completely new management team. They say Christian Pulisic is not for sale. That’s fine.”
It has been reported in Italy that Pulisic is among the players that the new manager Amorim has declared essential to build around, and he has rung the stars to let them know his plans.

But problem is Milan dont get those numbers for transfers.
The issue I see here is that North American model is to pay the athlete big money, clubs have other means of monetising. With Pulisic being worth here over 50M for the club it is impossible to pull this through. If you do a search, never has any MLS Club paid anyone 30M, so Milan will never sell unless they are willing to pay the player 50 million and us 50 million.
Question is then why write about this, am I missing something_
