CM.it: Atletico Madrid forward a possible solution in Milan’s striker search

Alvaro Morata has emerged as a possible target for AC Milan as their pursuit of a new centre-forward continues ahead of the summer window, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.it report, Morata seems to now be behind Memphis Depay in the pecking order as his last start in a league game dates back to February 12, and since then he has played fragments of matches off the bench while the Dutchman has been partnered with Antoine Griezmann.

A possible farewell to Atletico Madrid in the summer cannot be ruled out therefore if this situation continues, with the possibility of a return to Serie A given his history there with Juventus and the fact that there is no shortage of teams that need attacking reinforcements.

The report states that Morata ‘could be the ideal profile for Milan’ as they need a striker badly, with Olivier Giroud having worked overtime all season, Divock Origi disappointing and Zlatan Ibrahimovic possibly retiring.

Morata could represent a ‘logical choice’, considering the fact his contract expires in 2024 which will limit Atletico Madrid’s demands. The Spaniard has scored 12 goals in 26 La Liga games this season, not a bad haul for someone who hasn’t often had chances to start from the start.
