In recent days, FC Barcelona have begun to ‘explore’ a deal for AC Milan’s star, Rafael Leao, and the winger is a ‘dream’ signing for the Blaugrana.
By all accounts, Leao had a difficult season last year, but under Paulo Fonseca, he is expected to rise to a new level with the new head coach speaking about creating a different player. Regardless of the previous season, though, the talent of the winger is evident and well-known.
It is, therefore, understandable why the elite clubs are still attracted to him and the latest club to come forward is Barcelona, and this morning’s editions of Sport and Mundo Deportivo (both seen below) have offered some insight into the situation.
Starting with Sport, the paper suggests that the Catalan club have ‘accelerated’ for Federico Chiesa – who would reportedly be a target if Leao left Milan – but the ‘dream is Leao’ for Deco and Joan Laporta. The report continues, though, stating that the Rossoneri have declared the player ‘non-transferable’.
Mundo Deportivo’s report suggests an attempt is being concocted, and the club are ‘exploring’ the signing of Leao, but admits that a deal would be a ‘difficult’ operation to complete.
Outside of these reports, there have been suggestions about Barcelona’s finances, so it seems difficult to imagine a deal coming to fruition.
I would sell Leao and take Chiesa. Rafa is overrated 😒
I keep saying it, dude is overrated, same way some of us said same thing about Malik, now here we are. The earlier we cashout on Leao and face reality the better for us. We can upgrade that wing with Joa felix and Chiesa and be good to go.

You’re a fool. Leao was the best player in the league two seasons ago and last season he had 19 goal contributions. Come back when you’ve checked Chiesa’s stats.
Not only that, in top 3 for almost any relevant stat. Like ball carries, chances created from them, dribbles etc. Now how many more assists would Leao have if he played with Haaland and not Giiroud and Jovic. About 15-20 more per season.

You mean like Vinicius to be on 40, 50 goal contributions per season? Easy just give him similar teammates. You know, 120M AMC, a few 100M midfielders etc. Milan scraps aren’t really comparable but without Leao it would be a joke of a team. In top of serie A stats in anything relevant for a winger, above Kvaratshkelia in all. How is that possible?
