Divock Origi is a distant memory for AC Milan, yet the memory still remains, taking a heavy wage each month, and no solution has been found yet.
It is a problem which pops up every few months, as Milan try to find an ending to the Origi saga which has plagued them for a few years now. Ultimately, the Belgian is living well, not playing and earning money. A dream scenario for him.
There, unfortunately, is no idea on how to fix this issue, and despite suggestions that his contract was going to be terminated after the summer, the club have not taken any action, leaving Calciomercato.com to question what to do.
As the report writes, the striker is shrouded in an ‘aura of mystery’ with no one really sure how to end the nightmare. Solutions have been tried, but the former Liverpool man has refused several loan moves away from the club, in fact, the only one he has approved was to Nottingham Forest – we all know how that went.
In addition to this, the player has not accepted a deal to terminate his contract, and it does not seem like this will change. So, there are another 15 months left of the marriage, and though a divorce is desired, one of the parties is not agreeing.
This is why we need a good Sporting Director. Maldini was right when he said that now is the time to invest after Milan made it to the semifinals of Champions League BUT I never trusted him and Massara to manage the budget to invest in more players because of this deal.
What’s worse is that we also signed Morata on the same freaking deal as Origi. I just hope Galatassary sign Morata this summer.
M&M blunder w/ sign Origi but that will not happen if in that time board give him proper budget & no salary cap, Maldini even went to get CR7 &/ Vlahovic b4 Juve, Messi b4 PSG, Osi b4 Napoli & Lukaku b4 Inter, all happen b4 we sign Origi & all rejected by board
Because of Origi deal? What about wasting 250 millions buying 18 new players out of which only 3 showed something? What about selling one of the best midfielders and Milan fan to waste 90 millions on a completely non functional midfield? You can throw in CdK deal and the ones who left for free and M&M still did a lot better then this clowns now.
Back then we were Scudetto winners and contenders and a fixed CL participant. Now after 250 millions wasted, we are a midtable team fighting to qualify for Conference League. An embarrassment to this shirt and history to say the least.
You didn’t trust them. You don’t trust half of the Milan team as well.
I will gladly take one bad Maldini deal with Origi (whom even Klopp said it was a smart move by Milan to sign him) than the $h*t we have now with Emerson and Chukuweze!!! I won’t even add Jovic to that mix
At least Origi was a FREE transfer. Chukuweze and Emerson cost a total of 43M!!!! PLUS BOTH make 4M/saeason!!! So do the math and let me know how that works out lol
There was a dreadful signing back in the day, Winston Bogarde. Somehow we offloaded him I think to Barca, before he ended up at Chelsea. I think he saw out his full contract training with the youth team, but on full professional wages.
Totally ended his career especially at international level. But I guess he didn’t care, the most important thing wasn’t to be a footballer but to be rich. I see the same in Origi. He doesn’t want to play if it means less wages, and sadly that is his right.
Ac Milan politic is strict. If they want to sell player, he will not play any more. Same happens now with Tomori.
Bakayoko was one destiny before Origi.
Is it good politics, no one knows. Origi should find his way out at least on loan. And Milan should find way to half pay his salary with team who would loaned him for 1 year .
Origi doesn’t play because he is trash.
Bakayoko wasn’t even a Milan player. He was on loan with obligation to buy if he played a certain amount of games. He was trash.
Tomori is the worst of the 4 center backs at Milan currently. That’s why he doesn’t play. He was actually the most used CB through January when they were trying to sell him.
Yea dude, Bakayoko becomed Milan player. They are all benched to Forse them out.
You can’t sell a player whose contract and rights you don’t own. Bakayoko was a Chelsea player on loan at Milan. He was never a Milan player, so Milan couldn’t have sold him.
They are benched because of their performance not to force them out.
Origi was never a starter to begin with, so how can he be benched to be forced out?
Bakayoko was never a starter in his 2nd stint at Milan.
Tomori lost his starting spot because he was costing the team points, not to force him out.
We can make a list as long as my arm of the transfers over the years that did not work out as planned. It doesn’t make the players trash. Edgar Davids was not great at Milan, but was brilliant at Juve. Origi has a CL winners medal and scored in the semi and final. How many current players have a CL medal? or scored in the semi and final the same year?
What are you smoking weed or somethin? Play Oroghi til he lasted on the field for 99 minutes plus added time. Make him worth the wage we paid. He wanna stay, doesn’t want to go to other club.
A daily reminder to our cheap ahh management that just because it’s free doesn’t make it a good idea
Never sign a player who’s team lets their contract expire. Additionally, if the team is giving them praise and saying how great they are while not renewing their contract, that’s an even bigger red flag.
So would you say the same for Dybala andThuram? Or maybe it doesn’t fit. But the question we need to be asking is why these players are OK in their former teams but suddenly become trash when they come here. Also I don’t care what anyone thinks of Origi, he has every right to earn even when not playing. Did anyone ask him to play and he refused? I don’t understand how coaches just come in and condemn a player as totally unusable. They coach in Europe and act like they have a philosophy which needs specific players to implement but when they take jobs in Saudi, you don’t hear them saying they want the whole team out cuz they can’t adapt to the style of play. There are no absolutes in football so let’s not act like Origi can’t do a job in this current Milan team.
It’s been to our eternal shame how we’ve treated Origi IMO, scapegoating him. Might not be the best player ever and certainly we offered him too big a contract, but he was never given a proper preseason and the club tried to force him out after a year…… and failed.
Despite all this, he’s never once said a bad word about the club or its management. Fair play to him and his family.
Get him back to the first team. At least make the bum work for the money he earns.
Hire someone to break his legs or worse if he continues on this path…just joking of course but not that much…what a pc of excrement Origi turned out to be
Yes, someone should have their legs broken because Milan signed a contract with them. I hope a bus hits you by the end of the day.
I don’t think he would do much worse than Chukwueze last season. So, paying a player and not using him at all is the most stupid. He would probably even be a better RB than Emerson 🤣.
In any case, what to do, well cancel his contract when the next season begins and he can find a new club. He will get the money anyway, if he isn’t useful time to cut it off. Before last season of his contract it made sense to pay him month per month, not to make an extra expense in that season, but now…
