Austrian FA President hopeful about Rangnick despite Milan’s power: “I’m very optimistic”

Even if AC Milan are not at the peak of their powers, they are still one of the most competitive sporting organisations in the world.

It is no secret that the money in club football is ludicrous and Milan are among the heavyweights in the world. Despite their struggles, they remain one of the most prominent outfits in sport and this is unlikely to change.

So, they can still compete for the best talents in the world and this is the case for those on the pitch and off of it.

Indeed, it is this reason precisely why the idea has been considered so much by Ralf Rangnick and Oliver Glasner.

Optimism from Austria

It is Rangnick who is currently in focus, given that he is the last block that needs to be placed for the others to be confirmed. However, the Austrian FA remain optimistic that he will remain with them, as their president Josef Pröll stated to Heute, an Austrian outlet, via MilanNews.

“We want to keep him; he knows the terms. We’re waiting for his decision in the coming days or weeks. He and I know what we feel for each other, because we communicate very openly. I’m very optimistic that he’ll choose Austria.

“It’s clear that financially we can’t compete with a major international club. Nonetheless, we’re convinced that we’ve built an attractive overall package with the national team.”
