In recent squads, AC Milan have had quite a few international call-ups. However, it appears they’re back to square one with the national team.
Having an Italian core is an idea that many Milanisti desire. It’s something to be proud of, players from your club – who support your club – representing your country. Of course, it also shows that your players are doing well.

However, it has been too common that Milan have been without anyone in the national team in recent years.
Mancini overlooks Milan
The current Rossoneri squad has plenty of talent within it who could and maybe should have been given a call-up, the likes of Matteo Gabbia and Davide Bartesaghi. Then, you also have the younger options in Alphadjo Cisse and Francesco Camarda, as Pianeta Milan writes.
From a Diavolo perspective, it may not be the worst thing; it allows Gabbia to recover, whilst allowing the youngsters more time to work on Amorim’s system. Yet, it shows that, again, Milan are not seen as an attractive place for Italians to get international call-ups.

With a return to Europe this season – something which hopefully becomes the norm again – having international Italians would only be a good thing. If they’re homegrown, well, that’s even better…

Outside of maybe Cisse who is he supposed to call up?
He shouldn’t call up anyone from Tottenham either. What a mess. Half a billion spent and somehow they are worse than the last 2 seasons when they finished 17th
Cisse has scored two goals but what else has he done? Poor decisions and sloppy efforts. If he’s “Azzurri material” now wonder they’ve missed the WC three times in a row.
coope much? how come a team that is called “international” has more italians? lol
The hope of real Minalista is to WIN irrespective of their Nationality.
This is just your way of racism in Italy
Is Zaccani or Berradi not Italians and they are not call up why your negative narrative is always MILAN
You can f***up if can’t support Milan because we are here during the banter era!
Not one decent Italian player at Milan….all rather average. And no Ricci of course, even our past Italian players were bad.
Truly embarrassing cisse didn’t get a call up
