It’s time for Milan Badelj to know what the future holds. The Croatian midfielder has many suitors in Italy and in the next few days his situation could become clearer.
After appearing at Euro 2016, the player will return to Italy tomorrow evening to head straight to a meeting with Fiorentina Sporting Director Corvino to clarify his position and to know whether he is being placed on the transfer market.
There have been offers already for the 27-year-old with Roma and Inter the main protagonists. La Viola has set a price-tag of between €10-12 million as the rift between player and club looks to be irreparable.
Badelj’s position seems clear, he’s prepared to leave Tuscany if the call from a top club becomes serious. This does not necessarily mean that the said club has to be playing in European competition and this is where Milan will enter the race for his signature.
Calciomercato.com has learned that there has been no contact between the two clubs as of yet with the rossoneri desperate to off-load striker Carlos Bacca to get some much needed financial help.
If Fiorentina puts Badelj on the market then it’s likely a reunion with his former mentor Vincenzo Montella at Milanello is a distinct possibility. First however, we must learn the outcome of the meeting with Corvino.
