CM: Empoli and Atalanta playmakers targeted as Pioli wants a ‘chameleonic’ Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management are looking into players who could come in during the summer and provide creativity in the playmaker role as Brahim Diaz continues to struggle.

Calciomercato.com report how Stefano Pioli’s tactical tweak made the difference in Milan’s fundamental win against Napoli as he dropped Brahim in favour of Franck Kessie and deployed what strongly resembled a 4-3-3 depending on the moments of the match.

The Spaniard has the potential to become an important player and he is only 22 years of age, so time and patience is needed for him to fully adjust to a playing philosophy like that of Milan, but he is currently lacking in consistency and composure.

The trust of the management is still there and Brahim will remain with the Rossoneri into next season as the terms of his two-year loan dictate, but Maldini and Massara are also evaluating different profiles that can give support to the Real Madrid man.

Noa Lang from Club Brugge (8G, 13A this season) remains an interesting opportunity but he would cost €25m, so Ruslan Malinovskyi from Atalanta (9G, 2A) and Nedim Bajrami from Empoli (9G, 5A) are also on the radar.

Yacine Adli will arrive from Bordeaux to add quality, but he may not be the only addition as Pioli continues to strive for a flexible and ‘chameleonic’ Milan.

  1. 1 guaranteed name for quality, experience… Brendan Aaronson.. of RB Salzburg.. proven this seasaon already…
    Unfortunately… he is non eu..
In Fact.. he may slot in the place of frank kessie if he does leave.. as non eu..
Wondering how the scouting dept hasnt tabled a report on him.. he is true trequartista

    1. Yeah, someone that never played in a real league and is playing half of the matches against completely crap clubs and players is a “guaranteed name”. LOL

  2. I would love for us to get Malinovskyi, incredible player! But he’ll probably be very expensive. So Bajrami is a great alternative, still only 23 and really talented as well. So much better than Brahim! Also, could come at a relatively cheap price. If we’re keeping this current formation, either one would immediately become the starter and significantly improve the team.

  3. Bajrami is young, talented and not very expensive. Also, he’s scored or assisted against Lazio, Milan, Fiore, Roma and Juventus this season. He might ver a very good alternative for the Summer that bigger clubs are sleeping on.

  4. AMC?? We need smart trequartista, who have good decisions and vision to serve teammates.
not like a freestyle player, who dribbles too much but doesn’t produce anything
