GdS: Bakayoko decided to leave Milan too late but some markets remain open

By Oliver Fisher -

Tiemoue Bakayoko was the victim of the timing of his own decision on deadline day as his aim to leave AC Milan did not materialise.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Bakayoko thought about leaving for a long time given that he is no longer a part of the plans of head coach Stefano Pioli, but when he decided to leave and terminate his contract with Milan it was too late.

This is because of the bureaucracy that is involved in terminating a loan given the loan club, parent club and player’s entourage must all agree to the resolution, and therefore he remained beyond yesterday’s 20:00 CEST deadline.

The paper does add however that some transfer market are still open around Europe – above all Greece and Turkey – so there is still time for a possible farewell in the coming days if Bakayoko decides to open up to an experience in a different league.
