Franck Kessié was a protagonist for AC Milan on the field in the derby against Inter last night, but it now seems certain that he will leave on a free transfer in the summer.
Confirmations on Kessié’s potential move to join Barcelona have come via the Catalan-based newspaper L’Esportiu de Catalunya (via PianetaMilan) who are considered a reliable source when it comes to covering the LaLiga side.
They are reporting that the Blaugrana are in advanced negotiations with Kessié’s entourage over a contract that he would sign ahead of the 2022-23 season, and it involves a big pay rise for the 25-year-old.
Kessie currently receives €2.2m net from the Rossoneri and if he signs the deal on the table from Barca he will collect about €6m per year from them, but it is not yet known how much of that is a fixed part and how much is constituted by bonuses.
Well Barcelona really don’t learn do they? Unless they have a taker for De Jong or expect one of the young wonderkids to move on, this seems like folly (if it’s vaguely true).
Why? Dembele earns like 2.5 Kessies, so just him leaving gives them space.
not sure where you got those numbers from because it didnt really sound right i looked it up and he actually earns 250,000 euros per week which equates to 13m euros a year.
I don’t understand. Didn’t we offer him 6.5m a year? He’s gonna go there, make less and play less? Weird.

It`s not about the money anymore since Milan offered him more. If he wants to leave he should leave. No player is bigger than the club
I agree that no players are above the club and how its run but im pretty sure even when/if he leaves and endsup getting paid less than what we apparently has offered him then kessie and his agent most likely will earn more combined by him leaving for barcelona instead as they propably will get a higher sign-on fee than with us, . Besides of that does any milan fans even want him to stay beyond this season i know i don’t and kessie propably are fully aware that he is pretty much hated by the majority of fans by now so why would he want to stay ?
Anyways assuming that we actually aquirre sanches it would be an upgrade for the midfield technically speaking so doubt it would be an issue replacing him.
