AC Milan might be given an assist in their hopes of signing Robert Lewandowski, from the unlikely source of Harry Kane.
According to a report from The Guardian, Barcelona have made Kane ‘their first-choice target’ to replace Lewandowski. The latter’s contract expires at the end of the season, and Barca are eyeing a release clause in the Englishman’s contract with Bayern Munich set at around €65m.
Kane’s form in Germany has been simply ridiculous, with 108 goals in 113 appearances. He became the fastest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues in September, and also became a Bundesliga winner earlier this year, his first major honour.
Even though Kane has stated that he would be open to the idea of staying with the Bavarian club beyond the end of his current deal in 2027, the idea of moving to Barcelona ‘could entice him too’.

What it means for Milan
As Calciomercato.com write, if Barcelona were to make a concrete move for Kane next summer, it’s clear that Lewandowski’s fate would be sealed and he would headed for a departure. This would provide an opportunity for Milan, who want to sign him on a free transfer.
The Rossoneri have inquired about the Pole’s situation, but he doesn’t want to leave in January, by virtue of an agreement with Catalan president Joan Laporta. Milan, for their part, would prefer to sign a new striker in January, but Igli Tare and co. will stay in touch with his agent and wait.

The dream: Hattrick Harry
Half dream: Lewangoalski
Reality: ??
Reality: 18-year-old Frenchman from Rennes.
He’ll want to wait until the summer to do anything he can to stay at Barca. And even if he moves in January, he isn’t an answer. He’s a temporary fix.
Why don’t WE target Harry Kane? It’s amazing that Broke Barcelona can bring in these players and we can’t. 65M release clause. That’s Gimenez + Nkunku. He makes ~31M per year gross (~16M net in Italy), but maybe if we can offer 12M net it would be enough given the history of the club? Maybe make up the difference with a large signing bonus?
It’s depressing waiting for them to be 38 years old, like Ibra II, Giroud, Modric and now perhaps Lewandowski. Anything can happen at that age. Their bodies might break down or their effectiveness might plummet. Come on guys! One real statement signing FFS!
Yes but not Harry Kane, no way he’ll join Milan for less money. He can almost choose a club in England and Barcelona is interested. He has 0 incentives to join Milan from Bayern and hope we might fight for titles.
There aren’t many strikers these days that offer guarantees. I wouldn’t mind Lew on a free over the summer to add depth but facts are picking strikers is a crapshoot. Personally if I’m Milan and I want to look for a striker in January then I’m all in on Dusan with Kean as my plan B. Fiorentina might be headed towards a fire sale and perhaps would be tempted by a decent offer. We’ll see if Milan feel they need to gamble in January after going totally bust last winter but that would be my move.
